The gang was originally founded with the name 'Cuban Marielitos' but with the Irish link and the change in the background story, it is now known as 'Esmeraldas Cubanas' (Cuban Emeralds) due to the Irish-Cuban link

Background

In July 1980, a young Cuban hitman by the name of 'Antonio "Tony" Montana' claimed political asylum in Florida in the United States after departing Cuba via the Mariel boatlift. Tony goes through a detention camp called 'Freedomtown' with other Cubans. On August 11, 1980, Tony and his friend Manny kill a former aide to Fidel Castro for a green card  during a riot at 'Freedomtown', the green card enabling freedom to exit the detention camp.

Montana and his friend Manny are working in a small food stand before Omar offers Tony and Manny their first coke job. Montana finds work with local crime boss Frank López, who hires him as an enforcer in his criminal hierarchy. Over the next few months, Montana begins his rise through the ranks of the Miami cocaine underworld.

While on business in Bolivia, Montana begins to show his defiance to López's authority when he negotiates a deal with Alejandro Sosa, the ruthless and powerful Bolivian drug lord. Following an argument with López over the deal, Montana leaves López's service and strikes out on his own. Following a failed assassination attempt by López's men, Montana and his men kill López and Montana takes over the drug business. He starts dealing with Sosa one on one while making a huge profit.

As Montana's money grows, so does his cocaine addiction and greed. His depression starts to kick in and he is arrested in a sting operation and charged with tax evasion. A group of Bolivan drug dealers, Sosa, and a CIA officer offer to help Montana out of his legal troubles. In exchange, Montana must assist in the assassination of a journalist attempting to expose corruption in the Bolivian government. He gets angry when he sees the targets wife and kids get into the target car, and he kills the man who was just about to blow the car up with a bomb.

This mission was a mess up. He returned to Miami. Sosa sends an assassination team to Montana's mansion, taking out his guards before they can raise an alarm. High on cocaine, Montana takes the attackers on with an M16.A man with a shotgun was approaching Montana from behind without him knowing while he was standing on the balcony, Montana moved at the last second, and got shot in the leg.

The DEA (Drug Enforcement Agency) and Miami Police raid the mansion causing a wild state of confusion in which Montana was able to escape in his boat. 2 days later, during his voyage across the sea, he meets a group of drug smugglers in a yacht who are being held up by a pair of coastguards. One of the coastguards on the smugglers yacht notices Montana and was about to radio the authorities.



During this time, in 1980 the smuggler he was supposed to be arresting pulled out a gun from the back of his jeans, and shot the two coastguards. Montana, relived and impressed, went over to the smugglers yacht. Montana asked what they had on board and who they were. The shooters name was 'Decy', a young Irish-American who was an independent drug courier. Telling Decy his story about how he lost everything, Decy gave him a few kilos of cocaine to start everything back up again. They then built up a solid partnership, Decy later becoming Montana's right-hand man.

Ten years later, in a meeting on Cuban Islands in 1990, Montana and Decy agreed a plan. Montana was to regain control of Miami while Decy was to get control of the Drug Empire in the state of California

Q: Where do you get your drugs from? Do you just make them up?
We do and we dont. We 'import' them into Marina using a boat, by sailing out into middle of nowhere in sea and then returning. We then 'load' them into cars or 'store' them directly in a garage. The amounts decline after awhile so after a certain level has been reached we import some more drugs in. We also be fair to cops by showing on chat window the actions we are doing like lifting crates etc.

Q: Do they have any effect on me when i buy them?
Technically not. Its pure RP. You can always role play that you are high on them if you wish

Q: Then whats the use in buying the drugs?
We are currently the first and only gang who has a focus on drugs. We RP the importing well and so we are basically the most 'official' when it comes to dealing. Others make drugs outta thin air, we RP them by importing and keeping stock levels. There is also the possibility that you will get a wanted level if the cops raid the deal, which means you have participated in good RP crime

After 2 informal meetings over territory's with the leaders of Las Colinas Vagos ([LCV]Nitrox) and the Grove Street Family ([GSF]Niall) it has come to my attention that a few changes must be made. First of all, it has come to my attention that the areas of 'Playa Del Sevolle' and 'Los Florres' are currently owned respectively by Los Colinas Vagos and the Grove Street Family, therefore i withdraw my claim that we owned these areas. However, i made a deal with them that i can freely use these two areas for business purposes (i.e Hotels) if i wish, without causing any confrontation or friction between these groups. I am now going to focus my territory on the Marina and Verona Beach area of Los Santos, which caters for our importing aspects of materials in the future. It has also came to my attention that Los Colinas Vagos use yellow cars as gang cars, therefore i will review and change the colour of our gang cars to avoid confusion

Summary:
>Withdrawing ownership of Los Florres and Playa Del Sevolle but managed a clause which enables us to set up a business there
