did you also forget to realize economy doesn't go anywhere? lol. If suspect dies, he loses 1000$ and it goes nowhere, it just is gone.,  and when a cop receives money, it comes from nowhere, NO-WHERE. Its server generated cash which does NOT circulate before the cop receives it, it comes from the server. Infact, the 'economy' is positively effected (as far as gains) because there is 100$ more circulating around in server.

As for speed limits, I think they should be increased, like City Speeds to 150 or something, and increase from there...

Please remove them, I remember when they first came out, I opposed them with everything I had, but did not succeed in getting the decision reversed :(

actually "economy"  i was meaning is spendable money i.e  money already in game...
so if $1000  goes from ingame to nowhere.. it is gone from any chance of circulating...
the $100 comes from nowhere meaning economy gains $100

so economy made a total loss of $900...   Lrn2Count :)

Removing speeding laws does not stop traffic stops, it just means traffic stops have a purpose. The speeding law I believe is connected to the bigger picture - the overuse of the /su command.

I suppose it is not so bad these days, many players are not automatically /su speeding. And we all know, /su can really ruin any roleplay. The idea is to remove this reason - just that reason. Nothing stopping you from pulling over for reckless driving, giving them a friendly warning about their speed and erratic driving. What it does mean though, anyone /su speeding  (e.g. speeding on an empty road except 1 cop parked up with /su ready) will be immediately let go unless the cops witness dangerous driving...

If you think the only positive cop and civilian interaction is traffic stop, then maybe rack your brains a little and use imagination.

its like "if a tree falls in the woods and nobody is around does it make any noise?"

of course it makes noise, but noone knows for sure  ...

Ya'll forgot we have someone on the server called TWENTY?!

Maybe change the speedlimit to around 130, most people wont drive that fast anyway (Affraid of crashing, or lagging)

Being caught speeding often leads into interesting roleplay scenarios. Removing this would decrease roleplay between cops and citizens.

So I would say no.

I don't think the speed laws should be taken away, I think they should be changed to common sense.

Basic Speed Law - "Speed UNSAFE for Road Conditions"
Any person who drives a motor vehicle at a speed which is observed to be too fast and dangerous for the conditions is guilty of the basic speed law. This is when a vehicle, for example, is accelerating over 150 kmh while going through somewhere populated like Pershing Square. However, if there's 10 people on the server and you're going 120-160 through Market, it may not be unsafe.

[EDIT]

Also, if this was the law, it would also provide more court cases. People fighting the ticket, saying the Officer was too strict, and it was actually a safe speed. It would present more cases because people would disagree with Officers on their speeding for what the conditions were.

ALSO, it would make the Officers have to use more discretion in pulling over speeders and finding more hidden, organized speed traps instead of just sitting on the market strip waiting for a car going over 80kmh.

The main problem is that most people have fast sports cars as their only vehicles, and hate when they busted for fast driving, so instead of focusing to bend the law to their own prosper (e.g. slowing down or avoid places commonly filled with police), they try to remove the law itself. Driving slower and in line with the speeding limits is possible, but with the more classic cars, like Hermeses or Tornados, but who even buys those, eh? By removing speed limits, we're losing the thin layer of lightweight roleplay between police units and the citizens.

Also, I'd like to hear the opinion from one of those "I RP as it is real life" guys, as I'm interested how the lack of speed limits would have influence on their methodology and technique of roleplay, because, like, speed limits *do* exist in real life.

Traffic stops for speeding are almost the only only positive communication between a civilian and a cop.  If the guy complies its no problem and cool.  PLUS THEY ARE FUN AND THEY CREATE ROLEPLAy.  Depending on who you pull over these traffic stops can be awesome.

True, but most people are always in that "wtf who is this noob to pull me over i have more important stuff to do than to lose money to some noob" mood, they forget how to roleplay it in the given situation, so instead of saying they are in the rush, they start deathmatching and/or running away.

Speed changes i think would suit are

City streets + small towns (blueberry etc.)  - 120 km/h
Highways + Offroad (countryside) - infinite (no limit)

I suggest to raise the Inside city speed limit from 80kmh to 120kmh , this way you can drive fast - but not too fast , so people can still drive fast but not danger the public .
