I can say, that when I was in =AV=, I did use the brackets some times.
I also would not support if a clan does "ban" the usage of IC/OOC, especially not a clan like =AV=.

I left in peace, but if they enforce this shit, I'm happy I am not part of that anymore.

Many of you treat IC/OOC and its users like the non-existent highly contagious form of AIDS, cancer, and emphysema, even if they are neutral, don't force it on others (which rarely anyone does - you guys are just bitching about it and exaggerating the truth, to be quite honest; with all due respect). You talk about a threat, but where is this threat that you seem to think exists.

Ever since its inception, IC/OOC has created players who have emerged to be arrogant, self-centered elitists who have looked down with a disdainful eye on those that do not use their standard as inferior and non-roleplayers. It was a standard of different rules drawn up by the ZOMG roleplayers who sought to enforce ultra-realism on their "Hardcore Roleplay" servers, and the rest is history.

So basically those who wish to use IC/OOC are stuck up, brown nosed players who are filled with hate towards those who don't use their method of roleplaying?  Wrong there.
Not once have I came across players who you describe are like this and I play with some people who take RL-RP seriously.



Can those who are upon their high-horse get the f**k off it and just be god damn supportive of anyone's method of roleplay.

Looks to me like this subject has been blown far out of proportion then it needs to be. As long as the users don't claim this IC/OOC to be Argonaths vision I see no problem in letting them use it. Therefore I see no point in arguing it. Heck, I use it myself when the people I roleplay with use it. I do not use it when I roleplay with people who doesn't. I am versatile, but that's just me.

Bottom line, let people roleplay however they want as long as they aren't breaking any rules (it isn't a rule, is it?).
Is there no one that agrees with me?

There is nothing wrong with the comment above here, as it's seen daily.

What if you turn it on the opposite point of view, what if you encourage people to use specific terms in roleplay such as IC/OOC ?
The group will be closed, eventually forced to remove the "rule".

There's nothing wrong with the term "IC/OOC".

The way it was introduced to Argonath was wrong though, as people used it as a excuse to get away with things they didn't want to roleplay, example a routine check by an officer.
I saw a good example somewhere here on the forum a couple of days ago of how it's literally used in Argonath, and that's not the real way of using IC/OOC.

Officer: Hello, license and registration please.
Civilian/eventually cop off duty: (( Man I'm in a EVENT let me go noob!! ))
Civilian/eventually cop off duty: (( It was lagging badly over there, loooollllll let me goo!!!! XDDD ))
Officer: I don't care if you was lagging, you'll have to pay a ticket anyway

Here it's obviously the Civilian/eventually cop off duty who is incapable in roleplaying as he cannot adapt himself/herself. What I'am trying to say here is that people have to learn how to respect other peoples way of playing this game. A good roleplayer is not someone who only uses IC/OOC, or a player who is only into unrealistic roleplay. A good roleplayer is a player who can adapt himself/herself depending on the target infront.

And once again, these terms of roleplay has been brought into Argonath in the wrong way, therefor it's being hated by the most.

No. We have not. We are strictly against the whole OOC/IC , /em S/F????? and (((lol i like pancakes))) idea.
We strongly support the community and Argonath Vision as an official clan of Argonath. We have been around long enough to know what should be in the community, what shouldn't be and what both owners want in the community....and we will continue to support both owners in any decision they make as an official clan of Argonath RPG.

I do not support RL-RP nor am I one to be a 'JDC' (which I mean in a derogatory manner).

We(Corleone) once did some stuff with Stracci, though when the Straccis' joined our CB radio they started using RL-RP stuff.
I just told NitrOx that Corleone does not endorse IC/OOC and you should not expect us to roleplay in that way. He replied saying that around us they would not be using IC/OOC. We spent a good few hours having fun importing heroin (no, not real heroin).
We were two different groups who roleplay completely differently but yet we managed to roleplay fine without having a single 'JDC moment'.

Honestly, as much as some people think the problem is 'RL-RPers', the 'problem' is much more the 'JDC'ers'.
