Yes you need to find a RP reason. Being a scary mental clown is not enough to kill people without warning.

The person was sleeping, so Mr Medic you could call him took advantage of that situation, out of roughly 25 players, only a few moaned, they where all veterans mostly.

Mr Medic discovered a way of killing people without getting orange, then he gets told it's abuse of scripts because he avoids getting orange. So, let's say it's me in that ambulance, he wouldn't be allowed now to push that sleeping person out of the ambulance with a stick / pushing the stretcher.
Even if the person makes it very obvious with "/ad [NEWS] Another body found at a bridge in Red County Bridge", it's still not allowed?
That's how creativity is treated, because most cops would not tolerate a white named suspect.
The same with a suspect not wanting a light blue coloured cop to investigate him, although that cop is very experienced. The same with a dark blue cop not wanting a light blue name, he thinks it'd make him look unprofessional, not hard working.

The person may be sleeping but the sudden opening of the door will remove the gas and wake him up.

If you do not kill a person, you are not a suspect and no cop or admin should make a problem out of it. The method was used by both Aragorn and me a very long time ago (on VC) so you can hardly call it new.
As far as the other things, it is just the problem of disrespect.

I did not say what i said before to discount from your roleplay groups, I only said you make them a lot (sure maybe not recently, but you still have a lot which i don't see in use much.) possible showing you like to have control over things, a point I was making. No personal issues were expected to be made.

PS your basically trying to say that you can kill because of some reason unknown to the victim? BESIDES, why would you want to kill someone anyways? And don't say something like 'its for the sake of the RP' because its not roleplay to just murder someone, especially when the victim does not expect/accept that type of 'roleplay.' Maybe if you pmed beforehand, 'You are okay if maybe i end up murdering you in RP?'

Teach them and in case the situation goes out of your control (you as an more experienced player should know how to take care of a newcommer) report him and wait for an administrator to answer it... There's no need for restrictions.

The argument died off inconclusively.

The argument was about IC/OOC and the general acceptance of it. "Old style RPers" rejected any tiny bit of IC/OOC, even though they're not even using it. Some (NOT ALL) of the "Old style RPers" went as far as calling those who use IC/OOC brainless, dumb, and idiots. I defended IC/OOC, although I do not use it as a primary roleplaying style. What I wanted was for people to be more tolerant of those who are different (in this case, those who don't use IC/OOC being tolerant of those who do), not to bring IC/OOC in the server or whatever. I was defending the rights of all roleplayers, and I believed that the best roleplayers are those who can adapt to other players whether they use IC/OOC or not instead of rejecting their opposite.

I had a few "adaptive" encounters. Ofc I was not using any brackets, and ofc I ignore any brackets (apart from sometimes commenting "z0mfg brackets" in /L) and read the actual context instead (because very often people over-do with the brackets and bracket things that could be even said without them and still made sense "ic"). The other person was stubbornly treating everything I said in /L without brackets as "ic", no matter how little it made sense in that context.

So yeah, that's what I count as "brainless" and I haven't found a more accurate term for this: when people behave worse than machines when it comes to determining context of a message.


About the topic in the subject (or subject in the topic? dunno):
- a "no force rp" rule was announced
- it meant that you cannot force people into doing actions (eg. "/me ties him up" does not disallow a player to move)
- people only read the topic and author and immediately applied their own logic: "z0mg you cannot force me to rp with you" and started ignoring any robbery or traffic stop attempts, "because you can't force me to rp"

Agreed. I hear that sentence too much and I wonder sometimes why did they join the role play game server from the first place if they don't want to role play. Also he can say that sentence in one case and which is when someone is really forcing role playing for example /me hits *player1* in his face - without giving him the chance to block or to counter attack the other player (It depends on his character strength). In the end the server doesn't support "powergaming" so in my opinion the other players shouldn't use that sentence too much every-time someone tries to role play unless he's really forcing role play too much for example "/me hits *player1*, /me forces him to get dragged*, /me *pushs him inside the car, /me calls 911 "Give us moneys nao!1". and that's what happens when someone really forces role play.

Why? Because it's an idiotic discussion.

Accept every way of role-playing and just let every individual have its own opinion of role-play, of what's needed or not.
There should be no such way to implant any kind of role-play method into people. There's no better way, it's just a personal style.
Whether you use brackets or not, you're still here for two things; to have fun and to role-play. Enjoy that instead of complaining of things that's unnecessary.
