5570 is just like a weaker 9600GT

Try with Catalyst, removing all AA stuff, etc...

But well, you'll not run GTA IV fine on max settings with 5570, Unless you have 4GB memory and a quad core processor.

I have a 9600GT, Phenom II X6 1055T and i can't run on max, because my memory is 2GB DDR3 1333.

Running on med quality. --- 35 to 60 fps. (night)

I have 4GB ram DDR3 and C2D E8290, So? ....

If you have this video card, you will probably not run on max.

if you are willing to buy one video card, i sugest you purchase a HD 5870/5850 OR HD 5770/5750
If you're choosing nvidia, go with GTX 460/280/260/450
also, i HIGHLY sugest you purchase a DX11/10 compatible card.

and OFC, all depends on power supply you have, and budget.

Also, alot depend on resolution ull play on. Its wasting of money if you buy 5850 or 5870 to play on <20 inch. For 22'' curentlly is perfectlly enough something like 5750/5770 or Gtx 460 from nvidia. And only if every single frame means to you then buy something above 200 euros/dollars.

If you plan buying a new computer, wait till 2012, because this year, AMD's bulldozer series are getting released (16-core/8-core processor)

Bulldozer series promisses delivering 50% more perfomance than actual i7's.

About video card, don't use Crossfire, it's not good, consumes more energy, and you'll need a better refrigeration system.

I'd sugest wait more for 2012 also. 7000's/8000's series are comming up.

By the way, ATI doesnt exists no more, it's AMD Radeon now.

that's the AMD Radeon HD6990, actual world's fastest comercial gaming video card.

Sorry but it's not out yet. And when it eventually is it will be hotter, consume more energy and be less powerful than the GTX590 that's coming out soon as well. Just look at the current cards lineup GTX560 owns a 6950 and a 570 a 6970. Yes, a 6950 can be bios flashed to a 6970 but that's risking bricking it and the clocks 560s achieve push the boundaries of sanity. And then there's the flagship 580 which is.. well.. flagship ,no other word for it, really. They're cooler, quieter and use less power. If you told me Nvidia'd be making cards like that a year ago I'd have laughed in your face and told you to go hide in a hole...

Last year you'd be a total idiot to buy NVidia.. oh how things have changed.  Ever since the 460s came out the only way for Nvidia was up up up.

I really doubt Buldozer beating a 950 by 50%.. that's just a retarded claim by AMD which will never come true - look at how bold they were about the 69xx and then they came out.. and everybody per brainless fanboys saw they sucked.

@Wayne: GTA IV is a game based on cores, it uses processor way more than the GPU, and in case you have a good CPU but GPU can't make up to it.. it's just too old.. Once you change GPU to a newer one, you shall be able to play it.. the fault is not on the ram, game recommends 3GB in fact, so 2GB is still good!

@FastShoot: What about your graphics card.. but even if you have a good one, your C2D E8290 is not enough to run GTA IV..

I used to run GTA IV at 20-25FPS max with C2D E6400 + 8800GS + 2GB ram.. I later changed GPU to HD4670 and still had same results because my CPU was just crappy.

Also, the 5570 is a low-end card, don't expect much out of it..

Personally I use a GTX 280 with AMD Athlon II x4 640, with 4GB DDR2 RAM running at 800MHZ

Basically I went down the Graphics list, maxed out everything going down, everything is max except one setting which is at three quarters. (As I have 1024mb Graphics Memory and GTA IV needs a lil bit more for max)

I get about 50FPS. However, what I thought was rather strange is that technically I'm running it at a higher capability than its able, as my Graphics Memory Usage is saying 1100mb/1024mb.  Ie, using more than I have.

Jelly :(

But you should improve your RAM from DDR2 to DDR3, use 1333MhZ or 1600.

Yeah, lol.

When I bought my PC, they person I bought the bits off was saying how fantastic DDR3 was, absolute necessity. I asked him for a specific board, and he had no DDR3 boards in stock. He backtracked saying I'd barely notice the difference.

Hm, I'd need a board compatible with my stuff, AMD Athlon II x4 640, GTX280, but with DDR3 RAM.

Would need to be less than 40GBP, ideally have 4 slots for RAM.

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78LM_LX_V2/ Only has 2 slots but is cheap.

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78LMUSB3/#specifications - Costs a tiny bit more but apparently has 4 slots.

I've used both of those boards in builds for customers and they are both excellent.
