Even so, the AMD cores a year ago WERE faster.

Newer ones are more equal, however AMD chips are slightly behind, so they come from the factory slightly overclocked, thus increasing the temperature of them also when being used.

Hi Salmonella, How did you manage to fix a cooked card?

For Your Information Todor,

The Core i3, Core i5 and Core i7 are Intel's latest line up of CPUs.

The simple version is, Core i3 is dual core, Core i5 is quad-core, Core i7 is up to 6 cores.

The Core i7 also has Hyper threading, which means 6 cores can do 2 threads at the same time, resulting in a great performance boost.

Hope This Helps!

Happy Gaming!
Regards
DellStorm

What I meant was that a new set of i3 i5 and i7 processors is coming out along with a new socket which replaces the current i3, i5 and i7 8XX which are on the 1156. The I7s on the 1366 sockets are still the flagship processors.
Also there is a dual core i5, the 650. The i3s, as you said, are strictly dual core. All dual cores have hyperthreading, however the i5 quad doesn't. All i7s feature this, though. Only the i7s on the 1366 socket feature tripple channel ram, though, which is what sets them far apart from the current competition. Now this will probably change in the near future when Bulldozer comes out.

These i cores have FINALLY caught up with AMD

Lets take for example the AMD Turion, and the 2 core Duo

Intel Core 2 Duo

Core 1--------------------------Core 2
                            |
                            |
                            |
            Rest of Computer (RAM etc)
Data only travels along one way, so if you are gaming, both cores can be used, but if the RAM etc has to send data back, the Cores Slow Down because Data is coming both ways

AMD Turion

Core 1===================Core 2
                          ||
                          ||
                          ||
          Rest of Computer (RAM etc)
On the AMD, there are two streams, so data can be received and sent at the same time.

So effectively this made the Turion faster than its competitor, however I believe the 'i cores' now use this technology which is why they are seen as 'Smart'

I hope you realise what I mean.

May I also add the Core 2 Duo works sort of like the Core 2 Quad. The later core, ie, the i5, would be a fair bit faster.

Also worth a look at is some of the AMD Phenom x4 or x6 cores. These can be expensive though, especially the x6

Hope this helps you understand :D

Joe/Julio

Now I am an ATI fanboy, not an AMD one. AMD CPUs in general are not as good as the equivalent Intel but are cheaper, the motherboards they use following the same trend. Frankly AMD have ruined ATI  with the new 6xxx series GPUs. They simply do not wipe the floor with the oposition, the opposite happens.

Salm, isn't that a midi tower case?

Has any fan mounts? I sure hope so cos the idea of putting all that beautiful hardware into an unventilated case makes me want to shoot myself   :lol:

Come on, it's a Coolermaster :D

Fans -

2 Case Coolers ( the guy where i bought the case from included them ), they're really silent and kind of big
1 GPU cooler
1 SPU cooler ( as big as the SPU )
1 CPU cooler ( standard, planning to buy big heatsink with 2 cpu coolers on it, as soon as i get a quad core, overclocking time! :P )

There's also place for another smaller cooler at the case, but my motherboard only has 2 of these 3 pin inputs, will get a molex 4 pin > 3 pin connecter when possible, so that i can install one there too.

And lol, isn't coolermaster like... THE brand for ventilation and ventilated cases?

I'm yet unsure about my cooling, Most likely i'd buy some second hand coolermaster hyper 212 from someone in the neighbourhood.

I have decided to replace my Coolermaster Centurion 534 with the Coolermaster HAF 932

Such a beauty! . Mainly i need this case because it's got better airflow. it has airflow at the top of the case, I need that, because my airflow at the moment is not working good, because there's a closet next to the PC. Temperature of my GPU is around 80 degrees celcius...

above 60 is generally ''bad''. If you'd be able to, you could make bratwurst with your CPU! :P

I have a cooler on it which lowers the temperature to about 90 degrees, but I do not know how to improve it any more :P

Keep it away from cupboards walls etc, and in a cool room, such as a Air Conditioned room. Maybe use a fan.

It's sitting freely on a desk, with an additional USB powered cooler underneath.

It overheats a little, so the computer suddenly slows down and the fan goes noisy

Are you able to cool it down, maybe with a fan or something?
