The Rules of Good Sportsmanship in Games, Sports and in Life

Sportsmanship expresses an aspiration or ethos that the activity will be enjoyed for its own sake, with proper consideration for fairness, ethics, respect, and a sense of fellowship with one's competitors. Being a 'good sport' involves being a 'good winner' as well as being a 'good loser'.

Though much is taken, much abides; and though we are not now that strength which in old days moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are; One equal temper of heroic hearts, made weak by time and fate, but strong in will to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Exists depending on situation. For example, I, with TeaM members were part of a kidnapping / hostage situation. I was the hostage. Then SFPD came along and we worked clearly for a deal. Both parties were left happy as the roleplay was successful. It exists if you want it to exist.

DONT PRESSURE ME IM RETARED
The entire reason we have Hydra/Hunter on the server is because cops don't know how to work together. Sadly

When defining the complex term of sportsmanship within the community of Argonath, it's well under the foundation of RP or in other words, role play. Within the Argonath community, we all face the simple but also helpful use of public chat. After each successful role play whereas the majority of the participants are delighted, a simple positive and constructive discussion on public chat may be counted as sportsmanship. An atrocious example can be viewed below:

Acute: (1) Nice DM guys!!

The player above has contributed a negative influence of sportsmanship. The player is upset due to his/her unfortunate and possible unfair death resulting in some assets such as monetary, weaponry, or ego reducing. Administrators should cease him/her from the free boundaries of the server and discuss privately what exactly caused such a reaction after said role play scenario. A positive influence of sportsmanship can be appraised by the example shown below:

Acute: (1) Thank you for the great role play.

Sportsmanship can only be reinforced when acted on by the contributors who crave it; eventually leading towards inspiring others to also contribute.

Learn to have fun from playing the game, not just from winning.

Don't be afraid to do something spontaneous just because it's risky and might not work out for you. The more epic randomness, the more fun the game is for everyone involved.

Play for fun and friendship, not for stats or achievements.
If you do not want to roleplay, log off. Remember that "do not force RP" does NOT mean you can refuse to interact with other players.

Agreed, Grz.

You cant enjoy yourself if youre afraid to stray from the normal, and to interact with different senarios.
The reason people say there is no sportsmanship on Argonath is just because when they become suspected, a cop will gun them down, thats not the only time.
Even having a roleplay between two or more groups is perfect roleplay, so what if the cops come along? show them respect and it will end well, aim guns and say " pissoff " then obviously they will shoot and others will complain "ruining rp" and "bad sportsmanship", you need to look from both sides before judging.  ;)

Its a game afterall, money lost in the game means nothing, its not like you will go without food IRL if you lose some virtual money.

What Grzesiek said.

The responses to this topic shows that sportsmanship is dying out on the server. I see a "FUCK YOU COPS, ALWAYS ABUSING" or "____ MAFIA IS A BUNCH OF DMERS" more often than "Thanks for the pursuit, ____ / SAPD. I had fun."

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.

Obviously exactly what Grz said. The problem at hand is everyone goes "Omg non existant 2 many z0mg moaners.". The simple solution to that is to band with the people who actually have the sportsmanship of "Thanks for the pursuit, SAPD. I had fun." or "Thanks for the great RP kidnapping FBI" etc. to keep it up and teach it to the new people and simply isolate from those who don't.. eventually the 'others' will get bored because they're not getting the attention they want and they'll leave.

People need to figure it  out themselves, if not soon they will sit in the future and face-palm hours upon ends.

Whilst we're on the subject of Sports and sportsmanship...

Do you remember the basketball field behind GS9 ?  :cop:
How did that turn out?

That was good sportsmanship from scriptwriters to players, it ended up being criticized.
