The Metal Gear series has the best story line ive seen in a long time. I cant say its THE best storyline in a game ever. Because i havent played everygame. But it comes pretty close in my books.

The fact that it is layered so that once you have finished 4. If you go back and play 1 You are still surprised in the links it has to the 4th game.
