Each year the same moaning, actually it had to end up this way once.
Hope next year will be worth twice!

Last year it almost got canceled because everybody were like "vote for me!" "I pay you $10k if you vote for me" "Vote for me I vote for you". I'm not happy this year isn't any different.

Where must we go... we who wander this Wasteland in search of our better selves?

I don't see why you just don't cancel it forever, it's useless.

I'll be attending to the VC:MP Ceremony for sure.

Debating with idiots it's like trying to play chess with a pigeon - it knocks the pieces over, craps on the board, and flies back to its flock to claim victory.

Well, dunno why managers let the minority ruin it for the majority.

And so those who are feeling bitter about being DQed/ the cheaters etc... whats to stop them from doing it next year and ruining it for everyone else? Nothing, because worst that will happen to them, is that it gets cancelled, which has no effect on cheaters anyway since they were probably DQed.

Sorry for being cynical here. But it seems that SA:MP, the largest community by far, is being left out for another reason - because nobody could be bothered to count the votes. Since they are not counted, it means Giac did not count them, and if this was the case, why wasn't it resolved earlier rather than leaving it 2 months then go "err, sorry do not have time to count the votes"? and then suprise... its cancelled.

I think this could have been solved really easily. If the thread was moderated by a forum moderator as it should be (forum mods all inactive), then a lot of the crap stirred up could have been avoided, and those who were causing trouble would have been punished.

Same with any other events, even ingame events. Some cheater cheats, some hacker ruins... not once have I thought "god damn I will cancel the event now!". Just seems lazy. Just carry on, or start again. Not a big deal.

As for Giac handling it. I am very appreciative for him taking on the challenge, but since he is completely inactive in the community it is difficult to support him, but also difficult to see what work he actually did.

Making a big hoo hah over nothing. There are others who would happily volunteer to count the votes.

Try to ridicule us, try to demolish our reputation. But be sure to bring a f**king sledgehammer, because we're not going to roll over and die that easily.

Isn't it possible to ask ANYONE on Argonath to count the ones for SA:MP? So instead of cancelling it we could still have it, but maybe drop the ceremony? Atleast there would not be that much moaning. In my opinion, one of those who plan or who has already moaned about it not being in SAMP, would be perfect examples to count them since they seem to be the ones that is the most interested in it. I myself wont care to much even if I had a lot of votes on "Funniest Officer". Just a suggestion though.

I am sexy

Maybe we can has votes again!?   :D

Maybe next year it can be handled differently, I pmed Giac lots of suggestions, he said he will use them next year, but I dunno, I know many resources / improvements in this area.

No you're inactive.

According to something the owners said somewhere for the new players - like a guide when you first start here:

"You are living in a corrupt city."

So why did everyone forget this

I don't see why you just don't cancel it forever, it's useless.

Maybe same can be said about you and what you just posted!!    :devroll:

Lol Monte.

Anyway, my point about forum moderators in this case inparticular, was there was insufficient moderation that was one of the things that allowed the situation to get out of hand.

I will only post one reply here on the topic. 58th (SSC) Conecta is also closed by the time I'm writing this, and I am no longer a part of that group I once made.

We asked for evidence for basically a month, and it's remarkable that we yet haven't seen any evidence concerning this matter.
I don't care anymore, really. But it's still very unilateral to obscure something regarding our own groups. The thing that got me mad was the careless attitude from GiacJr, and the incapability to show us the evidence we asked for.

The Awards should go on, just delete our group from it. That will make every part happy. It's completely natural to start an argumentation regarding the disqualification. It's like getting beaten up, for no reason.  So I don't why people are punishing everyone for it.

The verdict has been given, and the results Giac concluded have been proven by the Managers as well. I would find it foolish to question that collective decision.
Give it a break already.

Also; with my hand on my heart - I am sincerely sorry and extremely shamefaced for causing something disparaging for SA:MP. I will unquestionably be apologetic for a long time onwards.
First and last post.

Sincerely, David.

Tradition, tradition and tradition :) Those Awards are here since Argonath is. Thats why they are still yearly. Next year is the 5th Argonathian Birthday, therefore also the 5th Oscar Awards. I hope deeply everyone will keep the rules of Voting.

@ Que, I understand your point Giac ain't innocent, and for the fairness I should actually admit that I know it as well. But since you are a bunch of players with quiet a lot members, I would say that the biggest part of the group would keep those back who are acting the same way. You should stand up as group, if the rest does fool around you might hold them back. So if you get me wrong, you should understand now that I espected a bit more competence about criticize and the moan waves against Giac. I know Giac for a long time, I know how he acts and it's not always right. In the end hes one who got balls and doesn't let hisself down fastly and from what I see it still just happened.

So still if all may now drop the critic anyways. It's been decided, I am free if you want to discuss it. As long it is as calm as in here atm.

Thank you for being sincere, mature and prominent while you answered. That's just something we have been asking for.
Good luck with the Awards.

It's good this tradition of the most popular players has been canceled, as it was all aimed on the possibility to get an award (does not even matter what for).

But now it means that I asked for votes for nothing...damn (joking ;P)
