Agree x 100092301232. Old school (or the Wii) will always win. All modern consoles are less reliable, have a stale library of games (besides Wii), and barely any good multiplayer game. Turn on the Nintendo 64 and you'll have friends playing with you. Turn on a Neo Geo, you'll have friends playing with you. Turn on Wii, you'll have friends playing with you too. Turn on PS3 or 360, people will be bored our of their minds watching you play the latest brown and bloom COD rip-off.

Turn on the PC and you can play pretty much any game, old or new (assuming your PC can run it). And also emulate some console environments.

I guess it really relies on self preference. For me, having the original thing there for me ready to play really beats the whole "artificial" feeling of having an emulator. No one has to crowd around the computer to get a view of the monitor. As for the price, I got my Nintendo 64 for pretty cheap and the games were also from 5 to 20. Now they are pretty pricey, I admit, but that's why I kept mine.

Which is why I want a CRT screen. Most of my consoles are plugged up to the living room TV since I lack a TV in my room. Everything has to be connected through converters and such.

The 360 has better communication, no doubt about it. But, I prefer PS3, and almost everyone that I know that had or has a 360 needed to buy a new one, or return it due to those gay Microsoft technical problems such as RROD.

Both Xbox360 and Playstation 3 offer superior network mode.
However it may be that Sony sets PSN in maintenance for a couple of hours each few months.

Still, For me personally the Playstation 3 offers the most satisfying results. Note that [WS] has a (big) division settled on Playstation 3 which I'm leading.
To keep our members together we have a headquarter on Playstation Home, a social-sim-like-game, where our members can meet up with each other and also an excellent place for Clan Meetings and such.

Also Playstation's Premium Services, such as online storage (in case your PS3 crashes) and free games to test makes it very suitable for our entire clan to settle on Playstation 3 rather than Xbox360.

Apart from the Premium Services, Playstation 3 system offers you several free online applications such as Vidzone where you can acces tons of music video's, MUBI, a Online movie-service for the cinematographs between us (note there are regulary free short-movies avaible for free) and other non-online applications such as video-editors and photobooks.

This complete package is the most suitable for me, since I also use my PS3 for watching Blu-Ray movies on my Full HD LED TV, As photographer I enjoy showing my work to my friends via PS3 and same counts for my video's. 

For me, The Playstation 3 is the Media Center in the house.
