Building a new Computer.

So basically, I've planned up a new computer which I'll be buying around march. After spending some days on research, I've come up with the following parts-

• Intel i5 2500k @ 3.3 GHz(Cheap and a "bang for buck" CPU)

         -I'm going for the i5 since I'll be only engaged in stuff like video editing, photoshopping, 3D Modeling and gaming. I believe i7 will
           be really unnecessary, or will it be?
         Note-If the next generation CPUs will be out by then, I'll go for that.

• GTX 580(I can basically save a fortune on the GPU's if possible)

         -In my city, GPU's are really cheap. the 560 Ti is really cheap then the price on the internet(ebay and stuff, and no, the GPU's
           aren't stolen or fake, they are completely original and new). Haven't asked about the GTX 580 but if its cheap as well, i'll go
           for it. MSI Twin Frozr or Asus
         Note-If the 600 Series will be out by then, I'll go for that.

• 4 GB(or more) DDR3 @ 1600 MHz(or more)

         -Not going for more since I find it completely unnecessary now. I'll add more after 6-7 months.

• 500 GB or more GB HDD

         -Same as above.

• Motherboard-They will provide a decent mobo.

Prices- CPU+Motherboard               -              291.5$(15000 INR)
          4 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHz        -              62$(3200 INR)
          500 GB HDD                       -              81.5$(4200 INR)
          GTX 580                            -              97$(5000 INR)-HOLY SHIT, IKR

          Other peripherals
          (ROM, Mouse, Keyboard, speakers, etc.)-52.5$(2700 INR)

          Total(adding other parts)     -               777$(40000 INR)
So any more suggestions or changes that should I make for better performance? I'm trying to keep my budget at this point, not more then this.

I'd probably buy faster RAM (higher clock, maybe a lower CL -- assuming the RAM you found is CL9).

HDD's are expensive right now, consider using the drive from your current PC, if you will be able to plug it in to the new motherboard (if your PC is not ancient like mine then you most likely will be able to).

Errr, Okay. I'll be going for the 1600 MHz RAM. And um, I've no idea what CL means and how does it affect the performance. And about the HDD. The prices are around 60-65$ here so that basically doesn't matter as long as those don't have low RPM speeds(I doubt those have though). The current HDD will be used on the current PC. So can't really use it.

I almost have the same specs, i5 2500k, 6950 (Which is the competitor of the 560), 8GB RAM, MSI Motherboard, 1TB. The CPU is really good and handles all kinds of new games, played BF3, GTA 4 with everything maxed out without lag, just sayin'

And by the way, I'm still confused with the RAM. Will 4 GB be enough for all the activities that I'll be doing?

I would probably wait to January or February, the new generation of Intel processors come then and the new motherboards. Be noted RAM is so cheap now a days you could easily buy 8 GB DDR3 now for a cheap price with the MHz of 2000 on it.

Yeah, I'll be buying the PC on march. So, if new generation CPUs are out, I'll go for those. I believe that the 600 GTX series won't be out by then, if it would, I'll go for one.

With 4GB you will not be happy, try 6GB

I noted that the prices of RAM are remarkably overpriced than the new ships from US. A 12 GB @ 2000 MHz from US costs around ~120$ (Including import taxes)where as in India it costs more than 180$. I might consider shipping one from US.

Now that you are upgrading you will be able to experience a UEFI bios it's much better to navigate through and a lot more cleaner as well as fancier looking than a bios of old.

The new generation of intel processor will not doubt be very pricey whenever they arrive the current generation were and still are...

Although they will provide a good one(probably p8p67). And currently there are no 1 TB HDD models available, the prices have almost doubled, i'll go for 500 GB. Probably 8 GB 1600 MHz RAM. Wow wow wow, are you telling me you ran BF3 on ultra, with that rig? maaaaaaaaaan get out of here.

Btw, charlie, RAM's are cheap nowdays ( atleast here ) , so i'd suggest you to buy the 8GB ram.
