Well try uninstalling it in the programs and features part of control panel.

If that doesn't work, try deleting it yourself by deleting the GTA San Andreas folder in Program Files\Rockstar Games and then try installing again.

If that doesn't work, see if you can do a system restore (vista/7) by clicking the start button, search 'system restore' then press enter. When it comes up, select a date before you date you installed GTA. Note you'll lose any programs you installed with this but your documents etc will stay the same. Once you are ready click ok and wait until the computer restarts and then install GTA.

start > run > 'regedit'
Make a backup of the whole registry.

Then search for 'Rockstar Games' entries, delete relevant ones.

Retry installing.

Just go into Program Files, delete San Andreas.

When you reinstall it, when it asks you where you want to install it, rename the 'San Andreas' folder to 'San Andreas 2' or something.

First of all, have you tried using the install option in your disc and installing your GTA San andreas in the exact same folder as before?Gta san andreas setup has a repair feature, meaning that the setup will pick up right from where you left it :)
