Just kidding, but often people are panicking way too early about something.

True...but I personally tend to take every threat seriously just in case. After all, Kolumbus used to be seen as a meaningless threat, and we know what happened there.

In all seriousness though, I do understand what you mean about the panic. That is why I've been trying to keep it to the higher-level boards lately as I don't want everyone thinking all hell has broken loose. I know I do tend to panic a bit much myself, though.

Actually Kolumbus was seen as serious, but after a recent change of server the defense was not yet up to standard.

Well I know you and I took him seriously, but I do remember some who blew it off like other smaller threats, which is why I use him as an example these days. I'm not up for a repeat of that :razz:

Some did, some didn't, but that's beside my point, though. What I'm trying to get at is that sometimes we see things as an idle threat that can turn into something huge before we know it, so we should be careful to take every threat seriously.

The main issue is security, which is why we are not happy about using custom developed sites or software that are outside our control. Using large standard sites ensures many eyes who look after updates, and many hands working on fixing any vulnerability discovered.

I couldn't agree more on that method. That's one of the reasons why I've tried to keep ARFD's software matching that of ARPD and Argo Forums', despite many others wanting me to use different things. I take security updates pretty seriously myself, so I don't even like going a single day with things being outdated.
