Advertising Illegal Things

My latest problem with Argonathrpg.com is some Admins say i cannot suspect people for advertising illegal things and some admins say i can.

But...
I myself support those cops, who suspect from advertisements... If anyone advertised he is selling drugs - I support that they could be already suspect without any visual contact... It is the same as on TV some company will start commersial about them drug dealing - expect cops...

That is why I am against idea to advertise drugs/hitmans and other illegal things on public... Wanna sell drugs - do it far away from cops... THEN cops will have also more RPG...

I shouldn't have to post a poll if Aragorn says its ok, but i just want to hear what people think and to bring this issue to the attention of all Admins to achieve some consistancy on this issue.

Well, I think you shouldn't be suspected, but you should expect cops to show up and search you. But this really isn't a light thing to just look at 'cause no one advertises on T.V. for drug dealing knowing that the will have cops on their ass, so I guess there shouldn't be public advertisement, but cops still need physical contact 'cause I don't know of any cop who will arrest someone just for saying something.

After giving it some thought my view is that you should need Proof.

IRL if someone says he is a drug dealer, he wouldn't be charged for saying so unless there was proof he was doing so, which is what MrEcks has pointed out.

Advertising illegal things is totally non rping...totally, if you advertise "I sell drugs" on the national tv:

1. people think you are stupid, cause only a stupid could advertise something like that on the national tv
2. the police will beat your ass until you spit the weed, they check your house, they keep you in jail until they found something
3. you say: but i was joking, it's not true.. go back to the point 1 then...

though it is a RP server
you ahve to RP
you dont suspect for something a cop in real life wouldnt see
he would only advertise to civilians not to cops
so i support the RP crimes
when you actually have to catch them doing sumthing and see them doing it

Of course you would need proof, You can't just THINK they are selling drugs, You need proof. Do like what cDa and all the FBI's did, get someone to go undercover and do an undercover drug bust.

The point is, In Real Life - You advertise it somehow and then some cops take you under surveillance...
And since there is no system for "Taking under surveillance" and the RPing can be very different and to some players, Hard...
So why not /su for ad...

This topic made me remember two Europeans in the USA that were drunk on a plane, and claimed that there was a bomb on the plane. They were deported from the USA for saying that, and yes, it was a false claim.

If the cop suspects a player for drug dealing with ads, another cop might just shoot him down without any investigation.

Suspecting for an ad , I am against it , since being a suspect means that you can be jailed (or shot ) without a judge sentencing you on this server (unlike in RL )  .Yes ofcourse the cops should INVESTIGATE , but this doesn't mean suspecting on every ad , I think .

If you see an ad try to call the guy ask where he is and catch him that way , I think its better . Well just in my opinion ..

I think that if you see Advertisement about drugdealing, you have right to arrive there and if ya see something in there then you got right to Susoect him for drugdealing. :redface:

If there is on a national TV (that can see all citizens) is sitting a guy and telling he is a drug dealer and his number, be sure police will SUSPECT him...

If you do NOT want to be suspected - do not fucking advertise on all server...
Do like it do the drug dealers - find people that will buy it and without any fucking commercial...

Police cannot suspect without prove... Public advertising with your phone number, name - is right the reason for suspect... That does not mean they can kill you at once... But Suspect and arrest are different things...
What needs at Course? you admit or you deny... if deny - investigation... If admitted - guilty..

I'm realy no drug dealer hehe but i think you should just make dealing ads illigal and against server rules that would also even up the chances of people and it will make thinks harder and only the good ones can win then not that im like a dealer that wants les competition...  :pop:
