For every team member who does not participate in at least 1 event, 1 point is deducted at the end FOR EACH EVENT THE TEAM ENTERED.

  When a team member wins an event, the prize money is split equally between the team. If there are team members who did nothing, why should they still get paid? This rule is so that teams only have active members and not those sitting collecting the winnings of others. Also if it is a small team say 2 members, but only 1 is active. The team is getting 1 pt just for turning up to an event, even though it is just 1 guy, giving an unfair advantage over other lone participants.

  In simple: If the whole team did not compete, they lose their 1 pt bonus they got for entering as a team.

  The team registration is for teams who wish to compete for the championship prize, so members are regulated as teams get points just for entering (and penalties for not). So of course you are welcome to participate for fun so you do not really need to register the team. Good luck!
