I asked, I didn't demand. Don't go passively aggressive on me.Not a single inch, you're the one who's actually dealing with the messes. To start with, I didn't even participate in any conversations here, why do you blindly believe I'm butthurt in the first place?
Passively agressive is giving a negative opinion about a topic and asking it to be closed.
With 15 posts here you got a lot to learn, one thing is that we usually do not close topics. Once a topic has ran its course, it just drops down to oblivience.

People who haven't played tabletop roleplays (dungeons&dragons, world of darkness etc.) don't know anything about real roleplay. If you want to know what roleplay really is, try them.

when you eliminate the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth

Thanks for trying to help people out with a few 'tips, Renz0.

I get your point and also believe people need to use more animations and /me to explain and express themselves better, but not actually the way you did on your first post.
Like people mentioned here before, /me is for situations where animations can't express your actions, or when they simply don't work.

A huge problem that I experienced is that SA:MP makes people think it's all about drugs, wars, gangsters & thug life. (Like in the main story of SA)
With that being said, most (very new) players restrict their roleplay to cops & robbers and similar.
It's a matter of personal taste, however, don't restrict yourself to one role if you're trying to improve your roleplaying skills.

I personally enjoy versatile roleplay, different skins, different locations, different people to RP with and that.
Just when it comes to family roleplay like in Sims, I just don't feed into it because it's riduculous to me and I feel too old for that kind of RP.

My advices would be:

Improve your english skills so you're actually able to express yourself properly. That's the most important thing.

Learn all the animations and try to combine them with simple and short /me's to make situations look more unique.
Most of times it's still better to say something than just doing another /me.
(Rather say 'Where is the next public toilet, dude' than '/me needs to shit real bad.')

Get in contact with different types of people, so you get yourself into more versatile roleplay situations.
Hanging out with gangsters all day is cool, but that's not making you fantastic roleplayer.

Use your imagination, don't think too much of being a thug once you have a black skin, or don't be too strict once you feel like being a business man.
Think of funny (not trolling) stuff, try to make situations more uniquely, be smart, witty and original.

Try to drop bossy, swanky & immature attitudes, and keep your guns in your pockets.
You're not a pro if you kill someone because you shot him down while he's typing.

Hope this helps, too.

Cheers,

- Paolo

I can't believe people still compare Argonath to other roleplay servers, it's just so mean!

Fully agreed.
One of our problems is that the creating of money for new players is limited to the cops-robbers scenario without doing the rather difficult task of letting the experienced players part with their money.
This will be addressed in the future, money should be made more easy...though always with some work.

No problem... just expect here a more loose policy as on most forums, regardless of the topic...
