Oh, I remember your reputation on these forums, so you're not one to talk.
He requested a flag for a non-existing state, so this topic is invalid, and nobody is attacking him, we are just doing something that's called PROTECTING OUR OWN LAND.
Also, you're the one making a big deal out of it, even if it doesn't concern you one little bit. So, if you find this topic too irritating for you, you may leave. Nobody forces you to post here.

It does concern people like us because we are part of the International Community and think its sad to see we still live in a world where a group of people wont even let another a group of people use something as simple as a flag. You want your nation to be seen by the rest of the world as developed and proud, yet you can't even solve the most basic of civil / human rights and social identity problems. If you really wanted to "Protect your land", you would do it by showing the world you abide by the acceptable standards that a developed country follows, instead of acting like some war torn African state.

Imagine someone breaking into your or your family's house and killing everyone inside, you would be upset, hurt etc. But people on the other block would forget it in a few days.

THATS WHAT YOU DONE NOT LONG AGO IN MITROVICA.

The state does exists. Just because you personally, and many other Serbs do not recognize it, it does not mean that it is non existent. Trying to prevent a user having a flag on their profile does not make the country exists and more or any less. It does not make any they countries status any different. People are making a huge deal out of nothing, sure, there is a large political background around Kosovo, and sure it may be upsetting to some, perhaps even many. But what about Israel, for example? Like I said, 32 states do not recognize Israel as a state, but it's flag is present. Only 31 states officially recognize Taiwan, it's flag is present and the conflict behind that country has caused great upset to many, more and it's flag is still there. Whereas 89 states recognize Kosovo.

North Korea's flag is there, but it's claimed by South Korea. The same can be said for the opposite.

Cyprus is not recognized by Turkey or North Cyprus. Flag is there.

Israel is not recognized by 32 states. It's flag is there.

Taiwans flag is there where only 31 states recognize it.

There are tons of states that have limited recognition but their flags are still there.

We own South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, they have their own flag.
We own Gibraltar, they have their own flag.
We own Anguilla, they have their own flag.
We own Bermuda, they have their own flag.
We own the Cayman Islands, they have their own flag.

It's just a flag.

Kosovo is recognized by 89 states, that's more than Taiwan.

I don't see the issue with adding Kosovo.

This guy knows his stuff. The Taiwan example was a great one.

Oh yes, we can see how totally non-racist your people are by trying to destroy Serbias most precious monasteries on Kosovo, also the assault done in Macedonia, tragic.
Should I mention further the racism of YOUR people?
Was not even directed to you. If I wanted to fight all the arguments presented by Serbs here, I would of long ago. So, because I personally don't want to offend close friends/brothers, I will not bother to argue against you. So, until I call you out, don't try to argue with me, no matter how bad you want my attention. ;)

Serbians defending what is rightfully and STILL theirs?

Please tell me what control do Serbians have in Kosovo? As far as I know, when something is yours , you have control over it more than anybody... I just want an answer, nothing more.

Now may I ask, for those arguing Kosovo's sovereignty, why you are so upset over a flag display? I don't think Kosovans would completely forget their history as Serbian, as if Serbia never existed.

And may I ask those arguing that Kosovo is independent, why are you so upset with people arguing against it? As Serbia is simply trying to defend their territory and preserve the Kosovans' heritage as being Serbian.

Think of the issue from both points of view, and move on.

That said, I propose removing flags altogether. Obviously, some people who cannot handle political matters will cause shit on others just because of where a person says they're from. It's happened before, and it's clearly happening now. Want to show your national pride? Use your signature. I use the country flags simply because they're there.

If Kosovo deeply cared for their Serbian history they would not have have created a Deceleration of Independence. They will not forget it, but by taking that step they have the right under international law to create their own international image. I support the flag because I recognise how international law works and im not going to allow people to be bullied simply because a group of people are butt hurt that the people they dislike are getting what they want. If people don't make a stand for the greater good we would have no change in the world and people like the Serbians in this thread would continue to be abusive to everyone.

If Serbians have no regard for the commitments they need to stand by, then they should never have become a member of the United Nations in the first place. It just shows they cannot be trusted with something as simple as upholding the trust of others.

My point remains. Arguing to death about this helps no one and solves nothing. It will not cause Kosovo to magically re-join Serbia, nor will it cause Serbia to magically acknowledge Kosovo's declaration of independence.

All that everyone can do is deal with it. The more we drag this discussion on, the worse it will only get.

If everyone thought like you we would not have change. There is a thing called International Pressure. Serbia can argue all it wants, but Kosovo will always have the superpowers of the west behind it.

Not necessarily related to this thread, which has devolved into nothing but lame bickering. If you want to debate about this, go to World and Local News, and do so within limits. This is keeping in mind that debating and the bickering here are two very different things. Also keep in mind that I'm not referring to the political matter of Kosovo's independence, but the near-absence of any tolerance in this thread.

Now, the point of the thread was about adding a display flag for Kosovo, not whether or not Kosovo should be independent. So for the sake of this thread, everyone, let's be rational, put our petty national biases aside, and decide whether or not to actually add the flag.

In my opinion, adding a flag does not make all of Argonath pro-Kosovan-independence, so that should not matter. If there is a state, and it's been formally recognized by about half the world, then it should be added. If you're going to be all mad at someone just because they don't want to be Serbian like you and want to use their newfound independence, so be it. Just remember to judge people by the content of their character.

Please note, the idea is not denied, but it's not accepted aswell until any webmaster, community leader or owner says so.
