Ok, even Admins have doubts on this. Some say it is allowed, some say it is not.
Personally, I still don't know but, let's face the facts.
In favor:

• People on foot can shoot you even if you're inside the car. So if you have the right to shoot back(cops), you should drive-by that person shooting you.
• The aiming is not as automatic as people say, example, in a tall car(ranger) drive-by won't hit people
• In real life drive-by occurs
• It provides balance in the war of shotguns versus SMG preference

Against:

• Drive-by it's lame, if a guy wants to fight, do it on foot. (by Jnn)
• It kills fast
• Can get anoing

No. Drivebying is way too lame. Its forbidden on SA:MP, and I really hope it will be in VC:MP aswell.

If people on foot can kill you inside the car, shouldn't you be able to shoot back?

Its not that easy to shoot anyone from moving car.. If you want to shoot back, just go out of car, thats what I would do atleast

thats a good point.

But what about the real life part. If we want a server to be realistic, shouldn't drive bys be just considered as a crime?

I hate drive bys, i think that DB should be strictly forbidden, because it kills you fast and its soooooo annoying >_<

And as Jnn said, its too lame and n00bish, You should make a script Anti-Driveby, If anyone drives by, he is automatically killed (Consider it as warning), if he is warned (killed by script) 3 times, he is kicked.

Actually, i have PMed Main Admins, Like Sharphis. He said that Drive-by is allowed, as long as it is not Deathmatch. So if you are a cop chasing a suspect, it is allowed. But if you are trying to RP a "Gang" and have 4 guys in greenwoods rolling by shooting people just to get wanted, or to just DM, that is forbidden. I think it should be enforced only with cops and suspects, only on eachother.

Hmmm, well i would say that hitmen could, but its a very disputable thing. Hitmen have strict rules, and if the hitman drive bys the victim, and victim drive bys back, and other people come to help, that will cause a lot of DeathMatch. so i would say no drivebys for hitmen, too much deathmatch

exactly, in VCMP it's very easy to be hit inside the car. In MTA it wasn't synced.
