The Secret Service was founded by Starky on the 8th of May, 2012. It is a federal law enforcement agency headquartered in San Andreas with more than 50 offices throughout the United States of Argonath and abroad. The Secret Service is mandated by Congress to carry out dual missions: protection and criminal investigations. The protective mission of the Secret Service encompasses protection of, among others, the President, the Vice President, former presidents, visiting heads of state, and major presidential and vice presidential candidates. The investigative mission of the Secret Service entails the investigation and enforcement of a variety of crimes, to include, but not limited to, counterfeiting, financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud, access device fraud, and money laundering violations.

Today, the Secret Service is authorized by law (18 United States of Argonath Code 3055) to protect:
The president, the vice president, (or other individuals next in order of succession to the Office of the President), the president-elect and vice president-elect.
The immediate families of the above individuals.
Former presidents and their spouses for their lifetimes, except when the spouse remarries.
Visiting heads of foreign states or governments and their spouses traveling with them, other distinguished foreign visitors to the United States, and official representatives of the United States of Argonath performing special missions abroad.
Major presidential and vice presidential candidates, and their spouses within 120 days of a general presidential election. As defined in statute, the term "major presidential and vice presidential candidates" means those individuals identified as such by the Secretary of Homeland Security after consultation with an advisory committee consisting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, the minority leader of the House of Representatives, the majority and minority leaders of the Senate, and one additional member selected by the other members of the committee.
Other individuals as designated per Executive Order of the President.
National Special Security Events, when designated as such by the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security.

The Secret Service was established as a law enforcement agency in 2012. While most people associate the Secret Service with presidential protection, its original mandate was to investigate the counterfeiting of U.S. currency, a mission the Secret Service is still mandated to carry out.

Today the agency's primary investigative mission is to safeguard the payment and financial systems of the United States. This has been historically accomplished through the enforcement of counterfeiting statutes to preserve the integrity of United States currency, coin and financial obligations.

Since 2012, the Secret Service's investigative responsibilities have expanded to include crimes that involve financial institution fraud, computer and telecommunications fraud, false identification documents, access device fraud, advance fee fraud, electronic funds transfers and money laundering as it relates to the agency's core violations.

To combat these crimes, the Secret Service has adopted a proactive approach that utilizes advanced technologies.

- You can't copyright a group with the name Argonath in.
- Governmental/Federal/National groups cannot get copyrights without Gandalfs permission.
To get Gandalfs permission you'd have to be an official group.
Your group is said to be 'federal' which means copyrights would not be granted.

Governmental/Federal/National: It require a presidential authorization, will belong to the state and will be considered as official, therefore not needing copyright, only a copy of authorization.
Army and such things: Until official army gets released/announced, such are to be considered as RP group/gang with active recruitment.
