A Pub really is nothing like a bar.. in any way shape or form. We have bars here too, you know.

In the US taking a child into a bar is "Endangering the welfare of a minor", a slap on the wrist.. fine maybe 30 days jail, and a visit or two from CPS (Child Protective Services)

Taking a child to a pub is perfectly normal here, alot have family areas where food is usually served.

A 'bar' and a 'pub,' are different.

A pub may happen to have a 'bar' inside it, but usually it's just a line of blokes talking happily to one another watching football or something.
