Indeed true, reports say he had a bullet proof vest on; only showing further that he intended to have some sort of resistance.

I think he surrendered on purpose. After hearing that his apartment was booby trapped, he expected that in one way or another he'd be identified and police would investigate.

The passage concludes with the media blaming Batman for inspiring the shooting, though he is not involved in the incident at all.

A handgun, sure.. he had an assault rifle, a shotgun and 2 handguns plus smoke or tear grenades. Entirely, not the same as having wanting to own a gun for protection, hunting etc... knowing this area the protection reason has become a high case. My aunt says the past few years this area has become a very rough place with many of illegals (mexicans) and other gang violence rising. So, protection would be reasonable reason, however what he had is a bit much.

Yes. He surrendered to police without resistance shortly after the incident.

Yah yes I just saw on BBC news, he surrendered in the carpark of the cinema shortly after the shooting, 3 guns were found in the cinema and some hand guns on him, his apartment is 'booby trapped with a highly sophisticated device' as BBC news said, not sure if it's still going on but good luck dealing with his apartment.
