The forums are intermittently transmitting data, and this is on page load. Argonath Radio is streaming, thus is constantly transmitting data between the two. So that isn't really the case.
In short, you may have decent enough speeds to manage load a forum page, but not enough to have a constant stream.

Well unless you'd rather put up a web-based media player, which may not be compatible for everyone, then it's the only easy option.

There is a few work around for this, as developers its already done more than likely to adapt for I.E. There is a way to detect a users compatibility and load-based on that.

It isn't really a personal hate, in the professional setting of web design flash is no longer able to meet the new standards and performance of HTML5 and CSS3 and adobe has no interest in fine tuning it to do so.

Buffering issues are generally caused by slower internet connections.

I can stream fine, my download speed is approximately 13 times of my upload speed.

I can also listen to other stations with the same or higher bit-rates than Argonath without any buffering issues, including other stations located in Germany/Netherlands.

I haven't noticed any issues with Argo Radio myself, and I've heard no complaints from others who listen in. Does it happen no matter the method you use to tune in, or is it just specific ones?

Most methods, some worse than others.

The only method that works is the flash based player on the website. However, for some reason when a new song begins playing, it goes crazy and is plays more silence than sound. I've heard of a few other people having this problem too.

I remember people suggesting being able to connect to Argonath's servers on phone or tablet... though we're a little far off from that concept (give it some time :P), this could be very good roots as a unofficial way of digging into apps and upcoming technology.

SA:MP just relays the stream to you. If anything, that would take more bandwidth to transmit it because it has to receive it first before sending it to you. Either way, it still requires you getting a stream from a ShoutCast server.
