I know this is not related to the specific situation, but I thought I'd leave it here rather than create another similar topic.
Another shooting has occured in the US, this time taking place in a New Jersey supermarket.
"A fatal shooting appears to have taken place at a supermarket in the eastern US state of New Jersey.
Local media and police officials said that at least three people died in the incident, including the gunman.
An official told Associated Press that the shooting happened in the early hours of Friday in Old Bridge, a suburb about 25 miles (40km) from New York."

There have been several more shootings recently too. In fact, shooting-related murders in Stockton, California in the United States has gone through the roof. It's nearing 800 murders this year alone, and a good portion are shooting-related.
In all honesty, I don't think it's so much the crazy people obtaining weapons that is making this kind of crime more common. Nearly all of them appear to somehow be related to the economic situation, which is driving people to desperation and fear, which commonly leads to what we see here.
When you lose everything and revert to your instincts to survive, things get hectic trying to cope in modern society. I honestly won't be surprised if it keeps getting worse, either.
