Cause in Poland they've got like 90 points of procedure to be fulfilled to shoot. And in each case, they got an investigation let against them, just to prove they were right.

Oh yes, because its sooo easy to quickly transport enough barricades through one of the busiest cities in the world, set them up and get a negotiator to the scene and still expect the criminal to just stand there and let you do it. Shooting the guy was the safest means to ending any situation like that. In a perfect world we could do what you suggest, but lets face it, no one in their right mind is going to spend money on such resources for some crazy guy with a knife.

This was, as said in the video, unjustified. Few bullets in the leg would had done it.

Getting shot doesn't have the same effect as most people think. Hollywood really falsifies it. There are many known cases where some people will get shot and not even slow down. When a knife-wielding man lunges towards an innocent person and a shot to the leg doesn't work, you can assume what would become of it.

Because all cops are trained marksman who can hit some ones leg well they are moving. Seems legit.

Bullets are much, much cheaper than to house scum like this for some years.

I believe this man lunged at police with a knife (?) so that allows officers to use deadly force so they don't get injured or killed.

You would think that would be the case, however there are two major things that people don't realize, and I'm actually glad you brought them up:

1. Police have training with lesser-lethal weapons. If they must remove their gun, they must be ready to use it, however most of the time they do remove them, they very rarely open fire. If they do, it's shoot to kill. The reason is because if things must be taken to the point of using deadly force...for the safety of those around them...then the force is meant to be deadly.

For example:
If you pull a gun on someone and pull the trigger, you intend to kill them in order to protect yourself and/or someone else. You don't shoot them purposely in the leg just to knock them over because you are fearing for your safety. It's also a split-second decision. There is absolutely no time to think. You just aim and pull the trigger, aimed at the center body mass.

2. Shooting handguns are much harder than people think. The first shot especially.

When shooting a handgun, even at a short distance, it is very easy to miss your target because when shooting, you have to account for recoil, the movement of your hand as you pull the trigger, and the slide moving back forward as the round exits...all at once, while aiming. This makes it very easy to miss your target...and when you are aiming and firing in a split-second, you don't get much of a chance to figure out your target and move towards it. The target and the shooter moving around also doesn't help.


For those reasons, it is not as easy to shoot someone as you may think. It's not like toy guns where you just aim, pull the trigger, and hit the target. I know this because I've had previous Law Enforcement firearms training with a Sig Sauer P229 in a Police Academy. Even our Firearms Instructor, who was a Sergeant with the Sacramento Police Department, and an expert in firearms and shooting, explained this same thing to us before we learned it from experience first-hand.

Tazers are not as good as the media makes them out. Half the time they either dont connect properly or just dont work long enough to stop the person. If your on drugs or mentally ill it does jack shit to you.

So from the 100 Officers on the scene, not even one of them had the brilliant idea of withdrawing or deploying a taser? That's not an excuse, however the one below is.

Obviously you've never been tased. It was most likely that he would end up stabbing himself because of the spasms that the taser can cause if shot at someone, specially with something so sharp as a butchery knife.
