It really is incredible how much terror power outages can cause. Without power, nearly everyone (at least in my town) lost their minds. They needed to get their hands on something electronic; everyone needed to charge their phones, their iPods, and laptops. There's a highway rest stop a few blocks away from my house. When I went there to charge my family's phones, there was a group of people in the corner, playing with an Xbox360 plugged in to the television owned by the rest stop. I guess this really shows how much electricity really means to all of us.
On another note, Governor Christie has placed a gasoline ration plan, where cars with plates with the last numerical value being odd can only fill their tanks up on 'odd' days, and even values on 'even' days. However, even with this rule, the lines at gas stations are incredible long. PSE&G, our electrical company, stated that the power should be restored in my township some time before Monday, November 5th. I hope things really settle down by then.
