I have an Intel i5 its good but... on heavy games overheats.
Keep in mind that there are different variations of it too.

As with most modern-day processors that are pretty powerful, overheating and excessive power usage are an all-too-common issue. That's why I personally prefer to use liquid cooling systems with my gaming computers, rather than the traditional fan method, since liquid carries heat much better than air does.

What temperatures does it reach?

My i7 2600 reaches 85c when loaded at 100% and even 92c if using some particular applications.. nothing you can get with normal stuff :D

My Quad Core reaches 90 degrees F. on average with liquid cooling because I always have a million things open at once that overload the computer.

I've been using AMD for a few years now, I've had 2 issues with it. But that was basicly when I was about to '' overkill '' my PC, since I kept playing heavy games on maxed graphics. Which made it overheat and randomly shut down. But apart from that. I haven't experienced anything big, just that it can become a bit slow sometimes, but it doesn't affect gameplay way too much. Though, I prefer Intel, cause it's better and you can get a pretty good one for a cheaper price.

Intel is the best when it comes to processors xD

However, if you want something cheap/economical, go for AMD.

P.S. The latest 3rd gen Intel processors heat up a lot, but again, they are made to take the heat like NVIDIA kepler.  :devroll:

Just remember that those specs you have posted do not list all of the details of those parts, so they might not be as good as they say. Make sure you research it before you buy it. :)

Depends on the temperature at which you set your BIOS to shut down the PC once reached.

Just remember that you need an Intel motherboard if your'e going with an Intel processor. Intel parts are expensive as hell, and I personally think that you can get AMD parts that are nearly on par with Intel for so much less...

Most of the Mobo got a security trigger at 100 degrees celcius, it just goes off. No way you get that off.
