Obama takes iniative on gun laws reform

Just yesterday, Obama announced Joe Biden will be leading a team of individuals to quickly "reform" gun control laws around the United States. He asked for proposals do be done "no further" than January. This is no delay after the recent shootings that have left over 200 dead in the last few months alone due to mass shootings in the United States.

Since the last shooting, my personal views on gun control have changed drastically. I'm interested to see where this takes us and when this get fully instated.

Hell I've seen schools now rush to hire more "security' bull shit this aint Gaza strip why the hell do we need armed guards at schools? Now i bet Homeland security will have liaisons in schools with "random searches" hell I was thinking it was crazy to think the US was going into a Police state but looks like its going to happen.

The picture is not relevant and you are clearly misinformed as to what is going on in society. First off, these are not rich white kids. They are just innocent young middle class children and it isn't just the televised shootings. Its other shootings, in all sort of neighborhoods. The idea won't be to remove guns we all know that isn't possible. The manner will be making it harder to get them.

Taylor does have a valid point; the government decided to act only now after middle-class children were killed, after years of poor children dying because of violence.

As for the constitution and the supposed "domino effect" of the amendments, keep in mind that the USA's founding fathers did not have these problems to deal with in their time.

Poor, impoverished children dying in poverty or related violence is nothing new, and has been around even before the modern age. It happens everywhere and not just in America.

That is why I find it suspicious that the government decided to act only after more privileged children were targeted, rather than trying to institute reforms that will end violence itself at the grassroots level. Violence among the lower classes has long been around, and so far the government has not spearheaded any move on the same level as Obama's reaction after the recent mass shootings (correct me if I'm wrong) to end it.

Of course, with today's culture, it is only to be expected.

2nd Amendment isn't just about the right to bear arms, but to take action against a tyrannical government.

It also states that in the Declaration Of Independence,

In what's going on with this country, I won't be surprised when something like this happens.
