I am in too making an actual game rather than scripting to make a server, so what i do right now is C++ and the 'Torque Game engine'.

I Belive VC:MP was made by the same team as SA:MP , but what scripting language did they use? mIRC or Pawn?

mIRC, although the next version will have pawn to pwn!

Anyway, it would be cool to see a CTF server, it bring a lot of strategy to deathmatching and VC:MP is all about DM now.
I wouldn't mind doing the server config, but I'm to lazy to script.

All these ppl that say they love mIRC etc etc

IMHO i find that pawn is alot neater and easier to learn, it has less symobls etc and basicly uses the Microsoft BASIC Coding

It's not exactly like BASIC. Here's a little example of a public function:

Code: [Select]
public What the player does(the id of the player that this happenes to);
{
Action(who it happens to, variables);
return 1; [return 0 will print "SERVER:Unknown command"]
}

So, if I was going to make a welcome message - it would look like this:

Code: [Select]
public OnPlayerConnect(playerid);
{
SendClientMessage(playerid,0xFF0000AA,"Hello. Welcome to my server!");
return 1;
}

0xFF0000AA is the colour of the message in hex, or you could define it by adding this to the top of the script:

Code: [Select]
#define COLOR_RED 0xFF0000AA

So you could do:

Code: [Select]
SendClientMessage(playerid,COLOR_RED,"Hello. Welcome to my server!");
I could go on for a long time, but that's basically how PAWNO works. It may look weird and might not make sence, but once you get the hang of it, it's really easy and opens loads of possibilities.

similar, thats nothing like BASIC.
But I must confirm, it's a lot neater than mIRC.

Wow! What I see guys!
Practically every post - scripter!
We announced that are looking for scripters... We also told to contact us for the test script in PAWNO... And where are our "scripters"???
Those, who got a test task from the developers - gave up on one script... One task!!!! Only one - and NONE scripted...
And what is here?
Andre announced himself a scripter... After him - other guys... With such amount of scripters we could already develop 3 GMs...
Now they are cooperating to start the new project...
Then I am not surprised what was going on with one clan server...
And I am not surprised, that some "developers" even had no idea, that they are developers...

Guys, honestly...
questions...
Why you call yourself scripters HERE, on Argonath, and on SAMP, if you could not make one usual standard script for ArgonathRPG? And why you did not want to help the developers, if you are so zomg scripters, but decided to make some GM?
And one more question:

Who understood the opinion of ArgonathRPG admin?

You found paradise in Argonath. You had a good game, you made good friends. The admins protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Aragorn, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect.

I did, i scripted the task, but with help from others, and i know the clan ur talking about, :) and i'm not bothered about you mentioning it as we could have, but we didn't :)

And , ye i did apply for a position on the script team, which must have been overlooked :( (jkin)

And i probably fully understand why and from this topic, there are alot of scripters, and i see myself askin the same question asn Aragorn....why didn't we helo? did we not look at the topic, or did we fail when we did...? What?

I hope this post made sense :S

Dave
