Being homosexual doesn't make you immoral or more likely to do things that would lead to something like a criminal charge... that's the wrong concept altogether. It's a sensitive issue and one that shouldn't be viewed through misconceptions.

The Scout Association is a lot more than that... more than anything else it brings people together and is meant to help develop skills, not create social boundaries or build certain attitudes. That's not exactly its aim (though it would mean different things to different people).

I've been a Senior Scout over in the UK and we generally tended to cut off from any social restrictions or general stereotyping.

For one, not being straight is not a fucking character flaw, like a drug addiction. Secondly, whilst kids might join their friends in smoking or taking drugs, you can't join your friends in being gay because it's not fucking contagious or voluntary.

However, you know what can spread? Ideas.
And, for that reason, I'm not convinced I'd be all that happy with my kids being friends with you, as I'd be afraid that you'd fill their heads with the kind of bullshit you're spouting now.

Whoever is born gay, for example, cannot turn straight. Yes, he can force himself to have sexual intercourses with women instead, but he will suffer from a lack of fulfilling his sexual desires, because women just wont be the same to him. I Cant believe such a ban existed especially in the world we live in today. I feel that whatever your sexuality you should be able to do what you want to do. If you want to be a boy scout then there should be nothing like this stopping you.

My Uncle is the mayor of the town i live in and is himself gay, i feel he is a great example of you should be able to do as you wish and that nothing is out of reach because of sexuality.

IMO gay guys should be allowed to be with kids no problem as long as they keep their sexuality to themselves like any self respecting person in front of children
