Robotic 3d building robots that work by themselves? No chance, atleast not in our lifetime.

If we have cars that park themselves, I am sure it is possible..  :conf:

Making a car park itself is fairly easy, such things as robots controling themselves completely free of human interaction is just a whole new step in this kind of technology, yes there is a car that can drive itself, but if you saw how big the computer system and all the camera's were it had all over it you'd see how inefficient the current technology we have is, maybe I over-stepped the 'in our life time' statement, but I doubt it'll be possible for the next 40 years or so.

That thing on Mars is doing pretty well.
And while they work without constant instructions, of course they will be programmed and be receiving data in regular intervals.
After all we would not have robots running there who suddenly decide to exterminate the mammal plague...

Pretty cool. Would love to see this become a reality... at least in part. :P

And I remember someone being quoted that humanity will never achieve heavier-than-air flight for another hundred (or was it thousand?) years only ten days before the Wright Brothers' experiment.

Look at the advances in technology in the last fifty years, and even in the last ten years.

The most important part is interacting with others and meeting people from around the world.
