It might not work that way. Arma 2 Free lacks the High Definition Graphics. A PC that can handle it might not handle the full graphics of Arma2

Arma 2 Combined Operations for DayZ, yes.
Although DayZ standalone is in development so there's really no point in buying the game if you aren't planning to play single player.
Although for this I guess standard Arma 2 is all you need, but you may as well get combined operations if it's cheap.

TIP;

I bought ARMA 2 and ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead, then you can play both DayZ and other multiplayer games such as Wasteland, which is DayZ, but with players as "targets" instead of zombies. Recommended. I bouht for around 15 euro on Steam, totally worth it!

My PC can't handle Arma 2 Free, It's blury has fuck, I have to have short draw distance to play Multiplayer, can't aim due to slow FPS, I need a new PC..

Meanwhile, at midnight CET , in 4h30 minutes we will run a closed beta to ensure server stability . Password requests can be made through MSN/Skype. The test should last 1 hour. The server will then be shut down for analysis and final updates. Depending on the results we should be able to announce the exact release date.
