Hello, I just bought a new graphics card for my new computer, it had some crappy ATI card that came with it which is basically a £35 graphics card, I've bought a Geforce GTX 650, fitted it myself and it all seems to work, atleast the fan is running on the graphics card.. I'm not that good with computers so I have no idea what the problem is, but I cannot plug my computer screen into the port that came with the driver as the screen just says no signal, I plug it into the screen port that is higher up the computer, not attached to the card and that one works, it's how I'm using the PC now, so when I try to install the drivers off the disc that came with my GTX 650 all I get is 'This graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware' which I assume means the driver I'm trying to install is not detecting the graphics card, anyone know how I can install the drivers and get my screen to work with the port on the graphics card? Thanks. ;)

If it is an older PC, the motherboard may not be compatible with the graphics card (to old/ cheap to handle it). I had this problem myself before.

Also there may not be enough power supply for the graphics card. Your power supply should be at least £50/$80 and a GOOD brand and not a cheap one - to handle that caliber of card.

If you cannot see anything on the screen when you connect the screen to the graphics card - it has nothing to do with drivers. Even without any drivers at all your graphics card will work and put images on the screen.

Download and install this: http://www.cpuid.com/softwares/cpu-z.html

Then take a screenshot of the "Mainboard" tab and post it here.

Thanks for replying Jcs, heres my computers specs, the graphics card is a GeForce GTX 650, it came with a small cable which I haven't plugged in as I didn't think i need to, the graphics card I took out wasn't attached via any cables so I didn't think I needed too but this one my guess is more powerful, the cable has 1 black end with 6 small inserts and the other end has 2 separate white blocks each with 3 inserts, no idea where I need to plug them in but the graphics card has a port on it for the black end of the cable.. Sorry if I'm confusing you, I don't know shit.

Edit: Thanks Reece, on it now.

You need to plug this:

Into your Graphics card (there should be one on your powersupply)

If it doesn't have one you need to use the cable that was in the box, plug that into the GPU and then plug the white ends into your PSU (there will almost certainly be some of these on your PSU) the 4 pin molex is where you plug them if you DON'T have one of the black 6 pin connectors on your PSU.

You got some of these cables on your GPU for sure, since older disk drives and harddiskes etc were powered with it. It got 4 holes in it and has the same form as the white one.

Graphic cards used to be not needed to plug. It's needed now though :D

Look on your PSU, it may have one of the black connectors on it, if not then you need to use the adapter to plug the black end into the GPU and then plug the two white ends into the white CPU into two connectors on the PSU that look similar, and you will be able to plug them in together.

Here is inside my computer, I don't see any cables like the one I have..
Also the cable I have that came with the GPU only has 3 prongs on the 2 white parts, not 4. ;)

Strange.

Do you know the model of your PSU? Or can you tell me the model of your PC if it was store bought?

Heres the PC I've bought, got it on Ebay, was supposed to be a 'gaming PC' but the graphics card it came with tells another story, didn't wan't to spend any more on it as I can't afford to but the graphics cost another £110.

Bought from here.

(molex is the 4 pin white cables)

I dont understand though if you have this:::

You should be ready just to plug it in?

Yeah so it's just a generic PSU should never skimp on a PSU, as if that goes to shit, in most cases so does your whole PC, however it is powerful enough for your card, but I wouldn't recommend leaving it in place long-term if you can help it.

Can you see if the fan on the PSU is red?

If so, there should be ports to fit the adapter that came with your PSU.

Thanks for the help guys, I got my uncle (God of computers :D) to come down and take a look at it, he figured it out in a couple of minutes, turns out my PC didn't have the right cables that was needed to connect it up in the first place, all power cables I had were being used for the fans and such (6 fans in total) but he came prepared and had some other multi-plug connectors or whatever, anyway this graphics card (GTX 650) is the best one I've EVER had, 50 fps on World of Tanks with all high graphics on, thanks again. :)
