Not exactly
"news", I know.
With the recent acquisition of the Star Wars franchise by Disney, there was a lot of speculation as to the fate of future games. Who will be making them? Will we see the revival or continuation of any old series? (KOTOR specifically sprung to mind here, as I feel SWTOR completely ruined the series for me).
Well, it seems EA have secured the rights for the publication of future games:
http://www.tgdaily.com/games-and-entertainment-features/71681-the-star-wars-games-have-been-savedUpon hearing that it would be EA, I initially lost all hope - mainly due to my general hatred of the company. However, given their success with various titles, they could potentially make some brilliant games; Battlefront 3 - the long awaited sequel - could be created on the Battlefield engine, which would be totally f**king awesome. Furthermore, the cancelled project Star Wars 1313, a darker game that has more of an emphasis on the bounty hunter/smuggler side as opposed to Jedi and lightsabers, could be rebooted - Dead Space, Mass Effect... it could work.
So, for any Star Wars fans out there, is there anything in particular you're hoping EA will provide? I personally would like to see another installation of the X-Wing series - Alliance still remains to this day one of the best games ever made.
