Happend to me too. I was able to create an new account to import the files to my other account. After I activated my virus scanner it resulted that I had a Trojan horse.

I deleted it and got back on my main account. If you are able to create a new account, do it. If not, I can't see any solution so far.

Although a virus wont/shouldn't remain after the system has been formatted and reinstalled, along with the BIOS being reset.

HP Pavilion G7 Series (can't find the specific m/n), it has an AMD Dual-core processor.
