Well the problem that I have is that my screen settings ( monitor ) is popping up. And I don't click it or touch the monitor. I tried resetting my monitor but it didn't help. It keeps popping up every 3 till 5 mins. Please help me.

Have you tried the buttons on the screen, some of them may be sticky or jammed. If not, then your screen has finally reached its Expiry Date.

The best thing you could do, if you have screen compatible, is use a TV screen. When I am home alone, I bring my 32" down from my Living room, and use that, You will not get any interruptions. But your TV must have a VGA/PC input or, if your PC has one, a HDMI input

As stated by Malik, it is the Monitor itself, so what applications were last installed will not matter in the slightest. My suggesting stands (If you have one, or the funds to buy one) of using a TV screen with VGA input compatible.

Are the buttons on the monitor touch sensitive or are they actual buttons which you need to press?

What is the make of the monitor and what model number?

Actual buttons you need to press , I got it like since 2006. I tried to clean the buttons with a vavcuum. I also pulled the buttons a little out to be sure they aren't jammed.

The actual button on the chip is possibly worn out leading to it reading as if you're pushing on the button when you're not in contact with the button at all, the only fix for that would be to replace that but then again opening a monitor is not advisable so I would suggest consider buying a newer monitor.
Try this; Unplug the power cord from the monitor and hold the power button for 60-90 seconds, hopefully it should discharge any power which is remaining in the screen, but your best bet to discharge the monitor would be to leave it unplugged for 12-24hours, then try reconnecting the power and see if it comes up again.
