The gun should have been kept in a safer place obviously. The thing is if the kid understood the gun could kill he sure as hell wouldn't have aimed it at the back of his grandmas head, maybe he would have picked it up and shot a wall or something, but not what he had done.

There is no point of carrying something lethal in the house. For example look at the gun crime in the Uk and compare in to America. Since guns are banned in the Uk, Gun crime in the Uk is significantly lower than the US in proportion to population size

But the thing is, 99% of criminals are incredibly shitty shots, most don't even know how to use a firearm. Where as, I've practiced with guns for years. I would still have a significantly better chance then someone who didn't have a firearm.

If you are talking about the US/UK system, even here you cannot be totally safe from a gun being pointed at your face. Even in a place where guns are illegal it is not a 100% assurance that someone will not hold a gun at your head if they really want to.

Yes 100% right if we banned guns the guns everywhere magically turn into dust, logic. Banning guns in the US will not work I don't know a single person who will hand over their gun to any government official. It will not work I don't know how I can make this easier to comprehend but IT WILL NOT WORK it will cause more problems than it's even worth. For example Chicago that gun ban worked well right?

There are non-lethal ways to stop someone shooting like calling 999. or Using new emerging technologies such as Using microwaves to disorientate the attacker and make him drop his weapon and walk out like it never happened. But its unethical

If someone is in close quarters, I wouldn't draw my weapon however I would attempt to disarm them or at least keep them occupied while I draw mine. If they're at a good distance (8+ meters) I'd draw and shoot without speaking.


@ the above conversation, the police CANNOT help you. Believe me, they're the report takers and the body cleaner uppers. You can't dial the phone with a gun in your face and you most definitely can't carry a cop on your hip.
