I can find some mistakes in the english, you should fix it.

Code: [Select]
Server rules:
[li]No cheating[/li]
[li]No hacking[/li]
[li]No flaming[/li]
[li]Listen to the administrators, don't ignore it[/li]
[li]Don't use mods that give you an advantage(running faster, bigger jump etc.)[/li]
[li]Don't carjack players, and don't carkill them(Parking on top of him).[/li]
[li]Don't shoot while you are on a moving vehicle(Referred to as Carsurfing).[/li]
[li]Don't scam/cheat new players(New players are considering these who have passed 14 days, usually or until they learn the basics)[/li]
[li]Don't scam inside casinos, it's bannable.[/li]
[li]Don't abuse scripts, if you find a bug inside of them, report it to Scripters immediately.[/li]
[li]Don't pause your game when you are wanted or in combat.[/li]
[li]Don't heal or take weapons in combat.[/li]
[li]Don't imposter/impersonate other players.[/li]
[li]No advertising of websites, servers and communities.[/li]
[li]Don't flood or spam[/li]
[li]No deathmatching.[/li]
[li]Remember when you /gu or /hail 1 you may not escape or open fire.[/li]
[li]Do not cophunt/copbait(Provoking officers to suspect/chase you)[/li]
[li]If you find map holes, don't abuse them, like entering the underground world, report them to a developer/mapper/scripter instead.[/li]
[li]No numerical/symbolic nicknames[/li]
State jobs:
[li]Don't abuse any rights that your rank or job gives you.(/su abuse, deathmatching with fire extinguisher etc.) [/li]
[li]Don't shoot idle suspects or suspects that doesn't show resistance(No weaponry or similar).[/li]
[li]Try not to abuse taxi/hooker duty for changing fees last time, to refund the other more. Neither should you "rip them off" by driving in circles/past the target[/li]
Suspect & Citizens:
[li]You aren't allowed to aid your friend if he is suspected, by just shooting officers as a civilian(This is Deathmatching)[/li]
[li]Your 'duty' is to escape, not to chase cops and kill them.[/li]
[li]If you think you are "abused", don't flame/provoke/shout on Main Chat, /gu and ask for an investigation instead. Evasion makes every crime valid.[/li]
Rule Notes:
[li]Any bug shouldn't be used for private usage that gives advantage, even with a joypad[/li]
In my opinion if this were to be stickied it would have to explain the rules in more detail/almost all of them

Even if it's mine i agree, but i made it as a basic thing to have, not for sticky. If someone told me if i had to do it more detailed then i would do it. It's not detailed currently.

Yeah we need a detailed with examples topic of rules.
And it should be HQs responsibility to update it with new rules. For example gandalf posts on a topic and creates an exception to a rule so it should be updated.

So that everyone can then view the topic to consult for rules etc.
And players won't moan, ' I didn't know'. It would be players responsibility to read them and read updates on it.

This thread is unneeded. As seen in this thread (http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?topic=99743.0), there is no set of rules besides the basic ones and the rest should be decided by an administration member.

Also for the love of God, please do not sticky this, we already have enough "needed" stickies.

You aren't allowed to aid your friend if he is suspected, by just shooting officers as a civilian(This is Deathmatching)
?

Neither should you "rip them off" by driving in circles/past the target ?

You are just confusing others by making these rules as they are not correct.

Actually the first one is entirely correct. See, you just learned something. I guess it was helpful. You are not allowed to aid your friend if you are not suspected by engaging police.

It is not if you are involved in the role play.

Should have been written by a CL or something, not someone that wants his post stickied.

Tom, thank you for going to the effort of making this. It would be a good idea to have one thread that firstly detailed the server rules and then went on to add summaries from Developer's Answers.

The information you have provided here is okay for the most part, but there are some areas that are not quite right and as Leon said it needs more detail. If you would like to do a bit more work on this I would be happy for you to do so and if done properly we would use it as the official document.

So, if you're up for it what I would like you to do is write this out again in a text document; after each rule try to give a short example of that rule if appropriate. When it's done send me a forum PM letting me know and I'll receive the file from you, I will go through it and make some amendments and additions until it is fully comprehensive and correct and then send it back to you so you can post it in a new thread. I'll then add the Developer's Answers summaries as a reply and sticky it.

Take your time with it.

Can someone else, with more experience and better English skills, take up on this challenge?

In fact, if the rules are written in a ''higher'' level of English, it would be hard for some players to understand the actual meaning of the rules. Kojak mentioned he'll go through it and make some amendments and additions, which would probably involve removing the grammatical errors.

Why not let Tom write the rules plus explanations, then let someone else correct any grammar/spelling mistakes? Community effort :gand:

I'm more stressing on the experience part.

And guys, who are we kidding, I'm not gonna do this. I want someone else to try. Not just one guy making all these topics to get more stickies.

Why the f*ck do you keep hating on anyone trying to do something good for the server or it's players, you think you're smart but actually your getting people who used to respect you to start to hate you, because you're hating on others 24/7 dunno if your hobby is hating on other people who spent much time and effort doing something a doubt you could even do, sorry but your attitude had been crap for the last few weeks, and I' saying that because I used to respect you in the past.

Good luck with that Tom, you can do it buddy!

Perhaps other people are interested to know what rules to follow, unlike you who's currently sitting in the unban request section.

Thanks for the superb effort, Tom.

Yeah sure, it's good enough too you. But still, something important as the list of server-rules should be written with proper english.

At the moment, this topic is not correct and I would also like this to be removed or corrected as soon as possible, as it only creates confusion.

Though, I do not see the problem with him trying to create such a topic. He is doing this for the community and not for getting his topic stickied. (maybe check his post history before making such a comment) You are requesting someone else to do it, while a community leader has already confirmed he'll be assisting him.
