Title: Pakistan routeblocked?
Post by: Declan on January 16, 2014, 03:10:05 pm
If it is wrong section, please move to the right one.

So, I couldn't connect to server, I asked Manaz if it is running there or not, He said that the server is running over there, and as he told me that janak said that Pakistan's routeblocked because someone is Ddosing/hacking.

I want you to unblock our IPs, Because I didn't use any type hacks and DDOS on the server, If Anyone from Pakistan has done it, his ip must be block instead of full Pakistanis, there are many people who are innocent, maybe because of just one.

So, please unblock our IPS we want to play :(

Have there been any announcements from the HQ about a recent routeblock of Pakistan?

Even if there is a routeblock in place, the HQ will and have always cleared the individual IPs of innocent players from any affected areas.

Not yet on forums, as Janek said to Manaz in-game that Pakistan is routeblocked, and the IPS of innocent people should be unblocked.

Same thing needed here, If it's possible. As far as my memory is concerned, In the last route block they did give the permission to use VPNs. HQ can give us the permission of using VPN in this critical situation.

For the meantime, I request a permission from the HQ to use VPN in order to establish a connection to the server.

You may use a VPN but there may be consequences that tie in to that such as a banned player having used the same route/VPN before.
In short, use a VPN at your own risk.

Devin, what is the reason behind blocking the route connected to Pakistan? However, the HQ can decide and just provide us a suitable VPN, from which we don't get any problem.

I stumbled upon this on SAMP forums - http://forum.sa-mp.com/showthread.php?t=488263

If there is no routeblock on your routes, then it very well could be that your internet provider and/or government is actually blocking connections to Argonath. They did this for many popular SAMP servers so Argonath could be on their blacklist.

If this is really the case then I suggest you guys get together and complain to the ISP and write to your government representatives.

You guys should also try bypassing this tyranny by seeing if VPNs work. There are free VPNs out there (altho they are not very fast), just google them. If you want it to be non-throttled then you will have to pay a premium VPN service.

As I am against government controlled censorship, I honestly would set up a VPN service on a server to allow you guys to join, but I don't have much money so yea, sorry :(

This is a part the post from the other community;

Quote
As of lately, it seems either Pakistani ISP's, Government or both has disabled access to either ports or services -.. or countries, disallowing our Pakistani players to connect to ****. The Lead Admin team has therefore decided to allow usage of VPN if you are affected by said internet moderation. (And only then!)

Read through the articles again, I'm sure they can block that.

A more important question, since the problem of blocking is not in our end, would be why the fuck PTA would track the updates and developments of small gaming communities in order to enforce a nationwide blockade. Not how, but why.

They banned the two SAMP Servers named Argonath RPG and Argonath Stunt for fucked up unknown reasons . They didn't ban Argonath itself , they just banned those servers so the website has nothing to do with it ... Or maybe they simply didn't think that there is any harm in the website ... OR IDK

They banned the two SAMP Servers named Argonath RPG and Argonath Stunt for f**ked up unknown reasons . They didn't ban Argonath itself , they just banned those servers so the website has nothing to do with it ... Or maybe they simply didn't think that there is any harm in the website ... OR IDK

It's not only Argonath, but also another famous roleplay server (You know which one)

Banned VPN routes/IP addresses will not be unbanned.
They were banned for a reason, that trouble making nuisances were making use of to disrupt the server.

.NET Framework 3.5 http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=21

I don't know that who blocked us but if you want to play in the server for long time, download one of them and when it is going to be expire download another one.(Or re-window :D )
Free VPNS are listed below(with also trial peroid)

Hide all ip(Trial period 5 days) (http://www.hideallip.com/download.html)
Okayfreedom(500 MB) (http://download.cnet.com/OkayFreedom-VPN/3000-2144_4-75750183.html)
VPNium(Free, only 2countires) (http://vpnium.com/page/start)
SurfEasy(Almost 600MB) (http://download.cnet.com/SurfEasy-VPN-Free/3000-2092_4-75962052.html)
Private tunnel(100MB) (http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Security-Related/PrivateTunnel-VPN-Client.shtml)
Hotspot Shield(Free) (http://download.cnet.com/hotspot-shield/)

If Pakistan routes are going to blocked for indefinite then free VPN software isn't going to hold out long so people can play.  Investing in a paid service might not be suitable for some just so they can connect to a game server, although they aren't extremely expensive per month ($6.95 averaging).

I was making a humorous reference about proxies and my own ping, as I have 400+ ping always. :)

On a more serious note though, exactly what happens and what kind of response do you receive when you take up this matter with the PTA officials? Unless something happens on their end, there's not much Argonath can do to help you.

That is, aside from sending letters from official community administration representatives, the odds of success of which I cannot gauge as I am not familiar with how the PTA works.

The server IP is probably not going to be changed.
Plus, even if the IP is changed the server's settings wont be. So if some kind of setting is being blocked, it will continue to be blocked. And if the server itself is being blocked by some authority, they'll find out and block the IP soon enough anyway..

I want you to unblock our IPs, Because I didn't use any type hacks and DDOS on the server, If Anyone from Pakistan has done it, his ip must be block instead of full Pakistanis, there are many people who are innocent, maybe because of just one.

PTA (Pakistan telecommunication authority) has blocked plenty of gaming servers (international) to prevent people from playing games as it is considered as a time waste. We have got many local servers of various games but they are not as good as they should be. We can improve our international language (English) if we regularly play international gaming servers. PTA is worried about the time that has been wasted by the gamers. PTA is seeing only the negative aspect but not the positive one. PTA would definitely ponder about this block. And maybe the routes get unblocked very soon. That's what we can hope. Meanwhile We have got VPNs to get access youtube then why not utilize those VPNs to play games?

We allow the usage of VPNs however if we come to the conclusion that you are possibly linked to another person (rulebreaker/banned person) which used that VPN you may be held accountable.

As in, if you make use of a VPN, it's at your own risk of getting your account banned.

Try Hide All ip, you will get trial for 5 days or 3 days, It is faster and I hope there will be no problem when connecting.

You will get same speed/ping as you used to have without using VPN.

Yes it is illegal because if you get background checked by staff your online career on Argonath is over dude
My pleasure

We are not using VPNs for changing our IP address or for banevading, If we use it for that, it will lead us to a ban. Everyone knows that problem, happening to us now a days, so it will not lead us to ban, i think.

Just a reminder like the others above: Using a VPN to join the server it's something that goes under your responsability and at your own risk.

Even with the fact that is "necessary" at this moment we do not encourage any of you to use it because as Devin said, if your connection seems to be related to someone else that might be a ban evader or a potential rulebreaker (and this will only happen if you get caught on an IP used by the same person that got the same VPN) you have the risk to get yourself banned. The best you can do is to contact your ISP or the PTA itself to find a way to solve this but then again, it's your choice.

Manoni is not saying that, Ken. He is saying, the use of VPN can get you ban, its your own risk. He do not means that the use of VPN will get you banned.  :) So, Please Calm down and be patience.

Using a VPN is not against the rules.

If somebody else has used the VPN to cause trouble, you may be banned.

If a connection is found between people on a VPN, you may be banned.

If a VPN is used to create a second/multiple accounts, you may be banned.

If you use a VPN to cause trouble, you may be banned.

If a VPN is banned and that means you can no longer play, tough.

VPN's are used at your OWN risk. If any rules are broken while they are being used, expect them to be banned.

Any rules broken on an IP you used (including VPN's) will rear their ugly head to cause problems for you.

Do NOT rely on VPN's as a way to play.

Do NOT rely on VPN's as a way to play.

To play we have to use them, we have no any other option(We can not send a letter to PTA they just act like illiterate, They blocked everything in which we spare our time, even blocked many of the CS servers as most of the Pakistanis play CS). Okayfreedom seems to be safe, After using the Hide all ip's trial I will use Okayfreedom.

We understand that you have no other solution, and we respect that. However, we also want it to be clear that there is always a risk in using a VPN as the exact VPN you are using can be used by another trouble maker, and create problem for you if that VPN gets banned (to take an example).

If only you use that specific VPN and you dont cause problem then there will not be any problems from our side either. You can play like you normally do.

That's sweet of you, Zaila that you respect all troubles from which every Pakistani is suffering.

Well, if we use VPN and it was used by a trouble maker, can we get a single warning before getting a ban?

No offence but this will be giving you an advantage over the other players... I don't say that you would abuse it, but others could...

Then stop using a 'banned IP'. VPN's are known to be used by banevaders, recreational hackers and other ^&%#'s. You might end up on a banned VPN, what was used earlier on. It might sound childish, but I'd advice you guys to keep these 'VPN-websites' within private chats. You always might have a retard who goes onto this 'less known' VPN and ruin the fun for you.

We dont ban you simply because you are using the same IP as a trouble maker. We always make several checks and only ban you if you are the one causing problems. We wont ban you because you simply use the same IP as a trouble maker.

To make it clear, unless you have done something that can get you banned, you will not be banned.

A little common-sense tip for those who need to use VPNs to play as a result of non-Argonath imposed blocks...

Don't share the names of your VPNs in public, but with people you can trust in PM. For all you know, some fucktard may come along and cause trouble on the VPNs, leading to more risk for the IPs you'll be using, and you don't want that.
