Title: [New Script] Trucking Script Released

The Argonath trucking script has been completely rebuilt and now features automated trucking missions. To get started, simply get a van/truck and drive to a logistics centre.

How does it work? Every 15 minutes, each logistics centre will receive a new set of orders (usually between 3-7, depending on the logistic centres's size). Each order has a certain weight, so sometimes your truck might even be able to carry 4 orders, or you could just get a van and only deliver small orders.

The reward for completing a trucking order is based on distance and the merchandise being carried, e.g. carrying the most valuable item (Diamonds) is more than 3 times more valuable than potatoes. (Don't tell the Svenssons though - they'll kill me :(). The lowest value item is Justin Bieber (again, don't tell Argonath's official Bieber... aka Luke_McCollin) and is worth a fraction of normal cargo.

If you have your own truck, you get a 25% reward for your investment. The best available truck is the Dune (http://www.gta.cz/data/eng-sanandreas/clanky/doprava/auta/Dune.jpg). It can carry as much weight as a Linerunner, but it's much faster and there's no need to look for a trailer! It's a pricey investment though ($180k) and is not available as a state vehicle.

Legal Weight Limits:
Linerunner w/trailer - 30 tonnes
Tanker w/trailer - 35 tonnes
Roadtrain w/trailer - 40 tonnes
Dune - 35 tonnes
Yankee - 20 tonnes
Boxville - 18 tonnes
Mule - 16 tonnes
Benson - 14 tonnes
Pony (van) - 8 tonnes
Rumpa (van) - 8 tonnes
Topfun Van (van) - 8 tonnes
Burrito (van) - 8 tonnes

You can carry up to 40% more illegally, but with the risk of losing your cargo and being fined.

Police will be able to setup weight control checkpoints. This can only be done by a senior officer and they must have 3 other  police officers with them. This constraint is to make raids more organised and not just random one-off weight checks. The penalty for being caught for exceeding the legal weight is up to $500 and loss of cargo. The police commands are /truckweight [target ID] and /confiscatecargo [target ID].

Also, add the cargo to the trailer instead of the player, please. So we can steal other's trailers. :D

And don't allow /abandoncargo if you're not driving the truck.

Believe it or not, but some people thinks its relaxing to work alone. It's enough interacting to honk to the other drivers when you meet them on the roads for me :)

- Gold to the bank from Bone County requires a  police officer escort to offload into the bank. 


if you remember industrial Corporation, my idea, the first BSF benefactor, the only real BSF benefactor,we used to roleplay mining gold, and diamonds etc, in Bone county, I think this was before mineraft, and we tried to sell the gold but no1 was game for it, and we just didn't have the script report for what we could have done back then, now.

Now if it required people to mine again in Bone County, or actually collect the resources and deliver it to the depots, then it'd be better.

If peopel ahd to collect weed/  hemp, then deliver it to the processing plant to enable delivery of paper, medicine, and fuel available, then that would be better.
 


Also, post ideas for items that can be delivered!

Remove / replace items which are clear copyright infringement, for more argo related versions.

What if you add packer to deliver cars from a DS to another DS.

And I think you should really do it a "Job" so you go in a place and after that people can go somewhere and take the job instead of going on mechanic/firemen/police duty while trucking.

If it becomes a "Job" you should add ranks. There are 12 kind of trucks/vans(13 with packer if it will be added) and those can be split 2 trucks for a rank and that would make us have 6 ranks (the last rank would also have packer rights). Of course higher u be more trucks/vans u drive.

I think better player interactivity should be focused on.
Simply having ranks that will enable you to do this or that will not improve player interactivity.

This script is possibly going against vision if that's what it will be.

No need, unless player owned dealerships are added so players can restock dealerships with car parts/cars.

I dislike this suggestion due to one reason:
It's boring. Having to drive from one place to another just to be able to drive a bigger a car is not needed.

TL;DR: Truckers should mainly supply businesses, not drive from A to B and make 100k a day.

No point in adding new stuff unless you guys want to make it trailer dependent.

My suggestion:
Rocks, Stones, Diamonds, Almonds, Coal, in Dump Trailers.
Milk, Fuel, Water, Oil and all liquids in Liquid Trailer(the petrol one).
Rest of stuff that doesn't fit above goes into box trailers.

Carjacking is against rules. Add the cargo to the trailer instead. Remove /abandoncargo if not inside a logistics center. ( To avoid players dumping cargos when caught by the police.  )

Please please please make a SERVER rule for cops that they MUST roleplay before using any of the commands.
Simple as that. Any breaking of the rules be dealt with admins!
They must use some sort of /me's, anything. Not just come in, press 2 commands and leave like robots. Feel me?
Please don't argue its too much work for the admins. It will only help people roleplay things and slightly move the server in the proper direction.

I do agree with this as i was off dity today after a month and i got abused twice with /su for a invalid crime and avusage of weaponary. Admins did not deal woth these situations which at least disapointed me so i do really agree woth this siggestion! At least something in this direction as i do try to learn people how to act doesn't even help for 1 precent.....

This was brought up many times ... So many times that I am convinced that it simply will remain like that. There are people with "power" in the administration of the SAPD, they can make a change, but they choose not to. The question is, why not? Why don't you fight to change this? Many people get abused, and seriously, more of us are sick of this abusive attitude that we get, you walk up to an officer/ FBI agent durring a barricated situation, and no one gives a shit about talking to you, they get their guns out, shout you to leave, and if you don't they just /su. It is about time we set some boundaries over here.

Not really, I'm just implying that everyone will now be on trucker duty as opposed to fire or police, so thank you for trying to be a downer, it's this kind of attitude that makes people leave the community. :)

I've just seen a small decrease in cargo payouts for deliveries from one point to across town, like about a 10% decrease. However, I've noticed a significant decrease in the amount of single cargo loads worth $1k+. Like a 70% drop in the amount of $1k+ payloads.

I've also noticed that there's a higher amount of empty freight depots. Empty in terms of there's no jobs available for a next delivery. Even if I'm the only one in the server. So I'd like to see that changed a little.

Finally, there's a significant lack of small loads (3-9 tons) about most of the time for truckers, espically van drivers. Due to that, there's more semis and box-trucks (Benson, Mule, Yankee, Duneride and Boxville) being used in trucker duty. While vans remain relatively untouched, except for the use as personal taxies.

Trucking isn't distance dependent AFAIK, you can make $500 driving from LV to BC or get $100 from LV to AP.

Gimli,

We should make use of the truck that transports vehicles. We can go to a marker and sometimes an option for cars will pop up (you must be using the specific vehicle though). Make the cars around $2000 however we should only have 5 of these trucks and they should be scattered around San Andreas.

Basically, I want scripters to implement the cargo loading onto the VEHICLE, not the player.
Currently, its scripted so that the script registers it on the player. Once you enter a different cargo car, the script deletes it from the player. It seems like its in the car, but the script is saving it on the player.

Once scripters script the cargo onto the VEHICLE based on vehicle ID, no matter what vehicle you enter or leave, the cargo is gonna stay there.
So for example, if I happen to roleplay a robbery and jack a truck, I will have all the person's cargo.

Farms make raw goods like meat, eggs, milk, alcohol etc.
A person can any amount of goods from the farms. They will have a fix price of like $100 per ton. So you can buy as much as your truck can hold.

You have to safely make your way to industries.
There can be different types of industries such as, Food industry, buyin meat and eggs for $200 per ton.
So a player can go sell it to the industry for the profit.

So now, if your cargo gets robbed, you lose the cargo and the thief can sell your cargo for double the normal profit.

PLAYER OWNED BUSINESSES?
Player owned businesses needs the old stock system. Like in RS4. But instead of /restock, he needs to set a price for his stock. Lets say a player owns pizza stack idlewood. So he needs the 1000 meat stock.
He needs to purchase it for a certain amount.
If he's in a hurry he can put a price of $300 attracting all truckers to transport the meat to him untill he is full.
Or he can only offer $200 or $205 to get it covered at a slower pace.


I hope you understand the kind of system im trying to suggest here.

Basically, I want scripters to implement the cargo loading onto the VEHICLE, not the player.
Currently, its scripted so that the script registers it on the player. Once you enter a different cargo car, the script deletes it from the player. It seems like its in the car, but the script is saving it on the player.

Once scripters script the cargo onto the VEHICLE based on vehicle ID, no matter what vehicle you enter or leave, the cargo is gonna stay there.
So for example, if I happen to roleplay a robbery and jack a truck, I will have all the person's cargo.

And how would you prevent carjacking the truck? That would be done VERY often.

You are right about the highway robbers, but that would end up in a chaos.
I can already imagine:
1. Nobody will be able to deliver the cargo safely as truckers are probably robbed 99.99% of the time.
2. /p would flood with rage and arguments because of what I just mentioned
3. DM rates would rise.

And on another note, highway robberies are already being done by those who intend to do it for the sake of RP.

So nah I wouldn't want this to be implemented.

Yes, my idea is predominantly based on a script from another server. However its a lot different from my idea, but if one has played there you could tell what I got inspired from.
If you really gonna deny this because of "we dont copy other servers" then argonath is never gonna improve.

Also, for all the players saying there will be carjacking done? Seriously? This is 2014 and this is RS5. We have enough admins to handle rulebreakers.
Is argonath really such a small admin deprived servers that you're gonna deny and reject ideas based on the fact that people are going to rulebreak? Really? If that's the case you either need to hire more admins or improve their performance.

Give negative aspects about the idea. If we're going to follow your stupid logic, then we should remove every script because of rulebreakers.
