Hola,

We have heard so much overwhelming feedback about the latest changes to the notoriety system. We understand it has been incredibly difficult to adjust to and after some review; I have decided to once again modify the system to be more suitable for the community overall. I'm sorry, I should've thought this out a bit more... we screwed up.

The new changes are as followed:

- slightly (very slightly) reduced the amount of notoriety lost when dying as a suspect
- entirely removed the loss of notoriety while dying as a civilian

The old changes remain:

- You still need to be notoriety level 6 in order to claim a bounty on someone equal or higher.

The following changes will happen soon:

- You will need to pay to claim a bounty, this will be a down payment of a certain amount or percentage. You will get this money back once you have successfully executed the bounty. There is no limit on how many people can claim the bounty and there is no expiration. If you do not make the kill, the down payment can be recollected at any time at the black market.

How slightly?

If you've got, say 3600 notoriety and you die as a suspect, what do you keep?

It was reduced from 2,000 lost to 1,500.

Teddy would be awesome if people with notoriety level 5+ must be placed at the maxium Prison Mikal built near SF. Then we can have prison roleplay with dangerous criminals =)

Appreciated, but still lost over 3000 notoriety due to lag and blowing up. That hurt pretty bad for non-violent characters that don't copbait. Guess it'll take another week or two to build that back up.

A lot of things have been "fucked up" over the past few months, and it's just getting worse.. I'd stop trying to fix a server that's beyond repair if I were you

When someone can be bothered spending like 80 hours making such an interior. :rolleyes:

And ontop of the time it takes, the server doesn't really have the player count for proper jail RP.

A "Developer" tends to fix their mistakes too, or at least tries to.. How long has your shitty drug script been bugged for now?  ;)

There was a few reasons it got changed. The only reason we've changed it back is because of lag, hackers, and bugs within SA-MP that lead to false kills.

We increased the level from 4 to 6 to make it balanced, if a level 4 tried to claim a bounty on level 6, if they failed and died there was no loss to them except maybe some weapons and a small bit of notoriety. Now, if you try to claim a bounty on a level 6, you too need to be level 6, so if you fail and get killed by them you've now lost everything. That's balance and we believe it to be a fair one.

The increase in penalty for dying while suspect was to discourage abuse of the system to avoid total loss of notoriety.

The addition of a penalty for dying while citizen was just a test to see how it would work... something we've learned very hardly and quickly was not a good idea and thus has been reverted.

Didn't feel like it "reverted". I tried to jump on top of a trailer and died, loosing another level of notoriety (around 600-1000pts), then later was planekilled by an AT-400 and lost my last 400pts of notoriety as a civilian/not suspected either time. Maybe its just time to take a break from Argonath for a bit and build up my Season 6 toon for D3.

Is there a way for those who lost notoriety from "non-normal" circumstances (i.e. the hacker, or bug kills) to get back their lost points, aside from starting from scratch?

Can we look on expanding how people win notoriety?
I would like this as well. How about a heist script? Perhaps notoriety rewards given to hitmen that successfully carry out hits. I prefer to be involved with the police as little as possible.

To be fair to the affected players, it was a poorly planned implementation that was a significant factor in loss. On the other hand, the developers did apologize for it, and are transparent about their work.

Still, I'd agree with this:

Having to lose notoriety because of random bugs and having to waste weeks to regain it is bullshit so I'm glad it's fixed. Not sure how long it will take to perfectly balance it but hopefully it will be balanced before we hit 10 regular players.

Sorry to say this, but out of all the scripts in Argonath; notoriety got to be the absolute worst. It may not be found in Cops and Robbers, but it is like enforcing criminals to go and take a piss on cops. I've had people PMing me to ask if I can suspect them so they get notoriety. If you want people to be able to rank up in a specific things so they can get meth or whatever, then you should find another way of having them earn that. Maybe create a job or something and then they have to serve x amount of hours to be able to do what they want to do.
