Greetings Community,
It's come to our attention that recently the level of roleplay and the understanding of a simple rule is severely dropping/Lacking.
Cop baiting and Cop hunting.. What do these two words really mean? What makes a player copbait and/or Cophunt?
Cop baiting is when a player purposely tries to gain the attention of a member of the police department or other law groups in order to become suspected to either get in a shootout or a car chase, With actions such as ramming(lag ramming), Speeding around them, Verbal abuse or even flashing guns in their hands for no good reason.
There is endless reasons i could list here that people have done in the past but let's stick on topic here,
Cophunting.. The name explains it clearly as it's when a player hunts down a police officer and attacks them in order to "get rid" of them or to just take them out of the equation.
Usually a player will turn on a Cop that is chasing them and begin hunting them, Which is in no way allowed, your job as a suspect is to evade, not hunt and kill.
Now i'm sure at least 75% of you have seen this happen ingame whether it be you doing the bad deed or you being the victim of it.
A Policeman performs a traffic stop on player X for speeding, Player X has 2-3 friends also in his vehicle, the Policeman approaches the vehicle on foot after being pulled over, Asks for license and registration, Player X refuses and begins threatening the Policeman along with his friends, This sooner or later escalates to guns being shown/fired.
Now what i see wrong with this situation is that the criminal side does not even want to try to roleplay it's simply straight up "Let's kill the cop and win" "let's get rid of him and get in a cop chase" Which is pathetic.
Now don't get me wrong, Some players verbally abuse the cops and refuse to pay a ticket and evade which is by all means allowed but being blinded by a need to win/kill situation and threatening to kill cops if they don't leave you alone is honestly(sorry for the language) fucking retarded.
Your job as a criminal is to avoid the Police, You're meant to fly under the radar and act lawful in the eyes of the public, Not flash your guns at every traffic stop and threaten your way through life, Taunting all law officers to come get you. You simply comply, Roleplay the traffic stop and if you feel the need to argue with the cop then you do so verbally, don't be all macho man and flex your guns and man power at them.
I know alot of people will argue "we're 10 notoriety and we need to protect our criminal status" But if you really want to protect your criminal status you wouldn't have gotten yourself into such a heated situation in the first place.
With all that being said, We as the administration will be cracking down on everybody's roleplay toward the police and in general, If you show no attempt to actually roleplay and just whip out your guns you will be heavily punished no matter the severity of the crime.
I might also add that this does not also just stand for Civlian > Cop Roleplay, This targets all forms of roleplay like civilian to civilian roleplay, If players cannot stick to the rules and have a friendly roleplay instead of only having an intent to kill they will be removed.
And before people start saying that these are just words, Every administrator has been given a topic to read so we're all on the same page regarding punishments.
If you happen to feel mislead or misguided/abused by administration please do report each and every matter here - http://www.argonathrpg.eu/index.php?board=496.0
This is one of many rule changes to come. - SA:MP HQ.

It is too late for a change now.

Ah, that's pretty much what everyone was on about for months several people constantly shouted out these exact errors begging for proper punishing and I'm glad it finally came. I really think this will cause a better environment and more of an RP place mentality.
It's only a shame it's not the core problem and this is not what's causing so many players to leave, I hope the actual problem will be fixed but I really think the chances are so low and all I have to hold now is my hope because I loved this place and I was an addict even I loved putting effort into this server and into my gameplay and my friends beyond game boundaries and I even got educated in many fields right here it's such a shame to see where we stand now and that some people just don't care about this place any longer rather then themselves and their egoistic friends and self images open your eyes people. many problems where brought up RP/ Toxicity in the community/ standards. lets admit it these weren't the serious problems the real problem stands behind- RP standards and over all RP can improve in every server or community this doesn't mean much and Toxicity exists all around the world I'd say one out of four people is behaving like toxic so you won't clear that out.
I support friendships and all but not in away you run people over on your way to success that's the people I disrespect the most and I hope shit will go down it's just hurts my eyes to see my friends waste time and grow hope while it's clearly useless and what I hate the most is two faced people who from one side throw shit at people with out holding facts and from the other side they know really good the real toxic and scums are no other then themselves. either way I know these people will enjoy choking on their own hate eventually.
I wish this idea the best of luck but the results are already expected. ;)

I agree with you on that. I've seen it happening by myself in-game and it's not pleasing to see. However, I have some reservations concerning the refuse to comply with police as long as no rulebreaking is intended. I believe that everyone has the right to, say, refuse to pay the ticket or even surrender when being chased by cops.
Paying a fine and moving on should not be the solemn situation or the norm of all days in the event of a traffic stop. Nevertheless, some cops also abuse their powers, and I've seen this happening to me. One day, after being chased, I stopped the car and got out. As I did, the police officer directly shot me without any warns. This did not end here. After surrendering, I was taken by him to Ocean Docks where he simply killed me instead of taking me to the police station for processing and/or jailing. There was no staff in-game at that moment to report what happened or to ask if that was normal.
What you talked about usually occurs with mafias and their members. However, everyone needs to behave accordingly and stop showing their muscles in front of the less powerful, being cops or civilians/suspects.

If you don't want to pay a ticket you don't need to, Just use your words not your guns and everything should be fine.
Having arguments and disagreeing with actions made by the police is just part of life and is in every way allowed. Just Roleplay and have fun, Don't walk into a situation with the intention to kill is what I'm saying.
Those who think they're not doing anything wrong by only having a "kill2win" mentality will soon find out they're very very wrong..

Now you realized about this when we got 10players at night when we used to have 30+. Now almost argonath burnt out, if you can make it alive from ashes then good luck.

Better late than never.. but hopefully it really isn't late.
I hope....

For all those who keep posting salty replies to this topic:
The door is still open. Please find your way out peacefully and enjoy your life before the administration team forces you.

It didn't burn out, thankfully a large portion of the people who brought down Argonath's quality are no longer playing and active, thus giving ground for a change. It's not ashes, it's actual clear building ground on which we can continue and improve our server.

We've got a point of agreement on that. This is among the things that make Argonath different from other DM/TDM servers. You got my word not to be involved in such scenarios and to notify the staff in case it happens in-game.

Alot of dm it make the server die need change fast before it too late the reason i left samp server was the dm every chase su or find su was a dm nothing else you find a suspect they start shooting at cops because they are criminals that was they excuse most time i report it to admin staff they give a warnings in pm like nothing happend when cops do it they get warnings punishment for poor rp and dm

One of the reasons I was fed up of the game.
Criminal dm is ok but cop dm is not OK. Wtf?
Let's set boundaries for dm and roleplay and impose strict punishments, literally strict one's to those who breach the boundaries.
Maybe a guide I saw people working on will help. It would be amazing if it tells people to rp.
I am not saying everyone does it, there are quality rpers here but most of the population nowadays is not doing so great.
-
Can u add this rule too? You can't moan about dm when u die or get castered
I hope the server will be back, good news
-
Well apparently 99 percents of the server were lowering the standards of RP and happily they all left to leave the superior RPers to play along themselves and create the god of RP servers and teach everyone wrong. the treats you got won't help in here already 2 AFK players online is what's going on now. and no it's not because RP standards were shit. shit didn't go down yet even that's the funny part.
I'm sure these who are responsible understand who's fault and in what actions but I guess they are too blind to actually act upon it.
-
It was definitely a long run but the sad thing is, your actions led to the demise of this server. :janek: :janek: :janek:
