Greetings Community,
It's come to our attention that recently the level of roleplay and the understanding of a simple rule is severely dropping/Lacking.
Cop baiting and Cop hunting.. What do these two words really mean? What makes a player copbait and/or Cophunt?
Cop baiting is when a player purposely tries to gain the attention of a member of the police department or other law groups in order to become suspected to either get in a shootout or a car chase, With actions such as ramming(lag ramming), Speeding around them, Verbal abuse or even flashing guns in their hands for no good reason.
There is endless reasons i could list here that people have done in the past but let's stick on topic here,
Cophunting.. The name explains it clearly as it's when a player hunts down a police officer and attacks them in order to "get rid" of them or to just take them out of the equation.
Usually a player will turn on a Cop that is chasing them and begin hunting them, Which is in no way allowed, your job as a suspect is to evade, not hunt and kill.
Now i'm sure at least 75% of you have seen this happen ingame whether it be you doing the bad deed or you being the victim of it.
A Policeman performs a traffic stop on player X for speeding, Player X has 2-3 friends also in his vehicle, the Policeman approaches the vehicle on foot after being pulled over, Asks for license and registration, Player X refuses and begins threatening the Policeman along with his friends, This sooner or later escalates to guns being shown/fired.
Now what i see wrong with this situation is that the criminal side does not even want to try to roleplay it's simply straight up "Let's kill the cop and win" "let's get rid of him and get in a cop chase" Which is pathetic.
Now don't get me wrong, Some players verbally abuse the cops and refuse to pay a ticket and evade which is by all means allowed but being blinded by a need to win/kill situation and threatening to kill cops if they don't leave you alone is honestly(sorry for the language) fucking retarded.
Your job as a criminal is to avoid the Police, You're meant to fly under the radar and act lawful in the eyes of the public, Not flash your guns at every traffic stop and threaten your way through life, Taunting all law officers to come get you. You simply comply, Roleplay the traffic stop and if you feel the need to argue with the cop then you do so verbally, don't be all macho man and flex your guns and man power at them.
I know alot of people will argue "we're 10 notoriety and we need to protect our criminal status" But if you really want to protect your criminal status you wouldn't have gotten yourself into such a heated situation in the first place.
With all that being said, We as the administration will be cracking down on everybody's roleplay toward the police and in general, If you show no attempt to actually roleplay and just whip out your guns you will be heavily punished no matter the severity of the crime.
I might also add that this does not also just stand for Civlian > Cop Roleplay, This targets all forms of roleplay like civilian to civilian roleplay, If players cannot stick to the rules and have a friendly roleplay instead of only having an intent to kill they will be removed.
And before people start saying that these are just words, Every administrator has been given a topic to read so we're all on the same page regarding punishments.
If you happen to feel mislead or misguided/abused by administration please do report each and every matter here -
