Title: Game recommendations
Post by: Kojak on November 09, 2007, 09:02:54 pm
Hi all

I have just dusted off my barely used Playstation 2 and would like to start using it again. I am looking for a military style, first or third-person-shooter that is realistic (not sci-fi) and strategic (not one-man-army blowing everything to smithereens with a chain gun before the timer runs out).

Ideally, it will be the kind of game where I have to hide in a bush with a sniper rifle (I'd quite like to be able to read a book while I play) until an enemy patrol wanders into my line of sight and is met with a single bullet to the base of the skull... or something like that.

Graphics are irrelevant (so old is fine); all I'm interested in is gameplay, and it must be difficult (or at least have a setting to make it difficult)

Many thanks

Elrond

Dear Elrond

Probably the best FPS Series On The PS2 is the Timesplitters Future Perfect,

I really really really reccomend it,

also,
other games such as Scarface, God father, and others.

Well Elrond ( Kojak )

Take these steps to have a good console gaming experience
1) dust off that PS2
2) take all the cords and wrap it up
3) throw it out the window
4) goto Gamestop/walmart/EB-Games
5) but Xbox or Xbox 360
6) buy Battlefield 2 : Modern combat
8) go buy Halo 2
9) go get xbox live ( $50 dollars for 1 YEAR of online play )
10) Buy GHOST RECON 2   ( not island thunder or w/e )

Stuntman: omfg i rented this game and i only did 3 stunts thruogh and retrying every one like 15 times ( i just gave it back to the store, fucked)

Ok I know this isn't on PS2 (it's PC) but this game is the one of the best tactical FPS I know and is extremely fun.

Thow away ure PS2 and go get this game !!!

ArmA: Armed Assault
[yt=850,700]yXOYJ7MiBBQ[/yt]

This entire thing was made by the author. It's kool becuase there is map editor and you can make your own map, put objects, people and script them. Just about everything you can use, car, tank, sentry gun can be created through map editor. The original game was "Operation Flashpoint", this is the newer version.

There is NO GAME that can compare to this!

Wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armed_Assault

To show how much detail they put into the editor, I'll show you the commands you can use when making your own map/mission. They apply both globally and with individual units:
http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Category:Scripting_Commands_ArmA

I challenge anyone to find a BETTER game of that sort!

the classic's are always worth playing i know it isnt really that old but it came out about 3 yeard ago i think

Star Wars battlefront 2 u get to chose what person shooter u want aka 1st person or 3rd u can be over 50 characters within 4 different teams empire, rebels, republic, and droids.... i used to like it alot till i got bored after 4 months of play  :D

Conflict Global Storm is the best 3rd person stategy type game. ALthough single player is pretty crap, and the network is shit, when you do finally get online and do the missions (Co-op with 3 other people) you get a real strategy game.

Socom 3 and Socom Combined assault are more realistic, again very good online (both have deathmatch games/ protect/ destroy convoy/ other multiplayer type objectives)... there are a lot of multiplayer games that are good for sniping

BF2 for PS2.... That is the best FPS ever for PS2... not much more to say! (Can get for under £15)

Admittedly, Star Wars Battlefront 2 is a good FPS/ 3rd person to play. Man those giant walking things are fun!

To suit your description the best game i would recommend for you is

Hitman: Blood money

This is a great game, requires tactics, it is hard but requires patience mostly you are armed with your sniper but if not it is still amazing, this is one of my favorite games in PS2 and this is definitely the game for you( that is if you don't have it already)

niall haha that games so funny. i got a terrorist rating for not going stealth and just running in and killing everybody left no survivors there was actually no1 left to kill. it was the level with the house party with a clown. i killed about 20 people then killed the clown jacked his costume killed a woman draged her body into the swmiming pool and left her there with her husband haha, im evil. i killed so many people though even the guards i hid round the corner shooting at them and when they died stole there weapon n kept killing.

All the hitman games (RULE RULE ) although not tactical militairy but tactical hits (this is almost rp thats how realistic wish you could play them multiplayer)

but what you want is Rainbow 6 part 3  , Socom (us navy Seals )I and II (is there a three???) both are squad based militairy shooters , especialy socom is very nice ..

But if you want to play hitman download it for pc Hitman Bloodmoney is very nice and there are live torrents for it )to bad I just sold all my good ps2 titles

this is sci fi but man is it a nice game ! ::: for a fps Timesplitters future perfect is indeed THA BOM(not realsitic though) oh did I enjoy playing that with my buddy (Co op )but Im can recommend like 200 titles lol just try these first .i

For a shooter game i say resevoir Dogs :P
i enjoyed it alot.
the story line is sorta cheesy in the game and its a short game but the gameplay was jsut stunning
you could actually take hostages at gunpoint (grab them and stick a gun to there head) and give the police orders so you wont harm the hostage they had a adrenaline Mode where basically it slows down the gameplay so you can shoot the cops and when it ends the cops you shoot get shown :) its pretty wicked

wel support is nice i used to do that when I was a noob(no offence meant ) Now I usually play sniper or AT thats where the real skill is

I usually use the support kit if i am up against much better players , at point blank range it is the best to go with

but nothing beats landing a headshot on a guy with your silenced pistol after he emptied a whole support mag in the air next to you

AT is fun, but people use it like assault(when i played), come in and blow himself & you away, when he could have naded you.
Support is awsome too, i mean, i love getting tactical(iggy i know i will love playing with you), all of that stuff, and i love giving support fire, idk man, that game is just a rush.

Also, I will go ahead and recommend this game to anyone who likes Graffiti art, first fighting and climbing around on shit, this is the game for you. The story is really weak in the begining, but as you get up in the game the story evolves, into a great story. The main reason I even got this game was because of the Graffiti, as I myself do graffiti I wanted to see how they'd made the game, and it blew my mind. The graphics are in my opinion awsome, ofcourse it depends on what computer you got. The fighting system is great aswell, seeing as the further you get, the more new stuff you learn. The story as I said above grows from graffiti rivals into a great goverment consipiricy. And the best part of the game I have to say is the music, this music is to die for. It's mostly hip hop - rock, but it's actually good stuff, the music fits the game 100%, it really gets your adrenaline pumping. I consider myself a neutral music listener', I can listen to anything - But mostly heavy metal and old rock. But still, this music alone is worth getting the game for.

Less talking and more showing.

This was a review from Gamespot, and to be honest, he really doesn't give it the cred it deserves.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kD_pejNZ_Rc

And this, is the intro of the game, only one of a whole bunch of great animated short-films. ( These come up on and off during the game, and is just mind blowing. )
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ubn5IqScKpU

Soo, as I said above, and you've probably forgotten, I wanted to know if anyone knows a game like this? Like, a heavy game, so when / if you punch someone you should feel it really hurts the taker. and it also needs a good story. If anyone knows a game, would be really appreciated.

I wanted This game soooo badly

But guess what

The old farts that run this country denied it.

Because it "encourages" graffiti

.

Piracy mate, piracy...

Anyways, the game is fantastic. And tbh, I don't see what's so wrong with encouraging graffiti ;)

Star Wars X-Wing Alliance (XWA)

Star Wars: X-Wing Alliance or XWA is the sequel to both Star Wars: TIE Fighter and the multiplayer-focused X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. XWA presents the story of the Azzameen family, a family of space traders. The player assumes the role of Ace Azzameen, the youngest of the Azzameen children.

Apart from the usual badges and medals for winning missions - a feature shared by the other games of the X-Wing computer game series - progress is also indicated by the amount of souvenirs collected in Ace's room. There is also a "mail" delivery between missions that helps to evolve Ace's background story while also providing a deeper look into his personal relationships and his family's whereabouts.

XWA is the first game of the series to offer a full voiceover soundtrack and full in-flight dialogue. Flight control is marginally updated from the previous games of the series, allowing the player to link his or her different energy weapons to fire together, as well as the addition of rudder support. Graphics are also overhauled in this game; high resolution textures, more complex models, and full three dimensional cockpits were added. However, the cockpits are not faithful to the other games; indicators and screens are separated from the cockpit, depicted as floating windows as part of the in-flight heads-up display. The player also has three "mission skips" that allow him or her to proceed through the linear storyline without having to complete a particular mission. "Family missions," however, cannot be skipped.

The game's prologue (and tutorial) concerns Ace's "family missions" in which his elder family members and Emkay instruct him in the flying of Corellian transports so that he can begin working for the family.

These missions reveal that the Azzameen family are in heated competition with the Viraxo and are generally sympathetic to the Rebel Alliance. Due to their sympathies, the patriarch of the family, Tomaas Azzameen, smuggles bacta for the Alliance in the aftermath of the Battle of Hoth. This causes them to pay dearly as the Galactic Empire raids their home station for running bacta to an Alliance outpost. The family subsequently seeks asylum with a Rebel task force.

As a Rebel pilot, Ace participates in a variety of missions for the Rebellion while also helping his family fight the Viraxo. During his tour with the Rebel Alliance, he proves himself to be a significant pilot as he participates in missions that uncover new Imperial projects, such as experimental TIE fighters and the second Death Star.

Some events connect the game to the movies Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, such as sequences that track the Rebellion's situation after the Battle of Hoth, as well as the theft of the Shuttle Tyderium. The game also concludes with the climactic Battle of Endor. Several events connect to the Shadows of the Empire story, such as a mission to assist Dash Rendar in the capture of the Imperial freighter Suprosa, which carries the plans to the second Death Star.

I really reccomend this game! (wikipedia)

Its a really hard game to find nowadays, and is very old, but still one of the best simulators ever..

Mount & Blade (game that i play when server is down :P)

Features

War has come down on Calradia  and war attracts its own bunch of misfits. Mercenaries, cutthroats, knights and adventurers flood into the land looking for adventure, fortune and glory. But war is a harsh master. It gives away death and grief to the lot, fortune to a chosen few, and glory, wise men say, to none. Still, men ride to war, for one or other reason. Some because they are looking for thrill and excitement, some because they are desperate and know no other way. Some because they are so bitter and hateful that they are willing to unleash doom on earth... And yet some, because they are the very heroes who will step forward to stop that...

Combining a sophisticated, dynamic game world and intense medieval swordfighting action, Mount&Blade strives to create a game experience never seen before. Playing Mount&Blade, you will venture through a world filled with daring enemies as well as friendly groups that will come to your aid or need yours. In a land torn by constant danger, raids and skirmishes, you will raise and lead your own war band, commanding dozens of hardened soldiers. You will hunt down your enemies following the tracks they leave behind. And you will fight epic battles where arrows cut the air with deadly hisses, axes and swords hack with fury, and horses and men clash into a violent melee.

Cool games ( Note I am a RTS fan)

Fallout 3: (RPG)

A roleplay game where you are set into a land where everything is destroyed. Everyone is poor etc. You need to survive into this destroyed land!

Oblivion:

A roleplay game where you are set into a fantasy land where you do quests and stuff.

Gears of War: (TPS, Third person shooter)

Good shooter, 1 and 2 are both good, story is very good and so is the multiplayer!

Settler Series: (RTS)

NOTE: there is classic settlers and modern settlers.

You have to build up a city with economy and stuff.

Example: lumberjacker cuts trees, a sawmill makes them wood, and a forest hut puts new trees for the lumberjacker to chop. ... Or a grainfield, mill and a bakery!

Difference between classic settlers (Settlers: 10th anniverary and Settlers V) is that sellers 10th anniversary uses the classic system of system and its better. But Settlers V is better in graphics and more RTS like.

Anno 1701: (RTS)

Great game where you colonize an island and you build up a big city! Alot like Settlers just a little different, better army system but building takes longer generally

Company Of Heroes: (RTS)

Simply the best WW2 game with good graphics. But the orginal version, not the standalone expansion.

Faces Of War: (RTS)

This is a RTS too, but it is more fighting with little army's and pretty realistic. You can take direct control of units and everything has an inventory and stuff. Pretty cool but multiplayer tends to be laggy. Check out Soldiers: heroes of WWII, its an older version but it seems to be less laggy.

Warcraft III + Expansion: (RTS)

One of the best RTSes ever made. The maps are realy differen. Tower Defense, Mauls, Hero Line wars, Worm war, DoTa or just simply a normal RTS game.

Mount&blade: (TPS, RPG)

A really nice Independent game if you like controlling a medieval char and hiring soldiers and get strongo ver time ruling the whole world by fighting army's etc. Try out the trial! It has unique gameplay experience!

Also, mods are made that might improve the gameplay experience. graphics too low? Download the graphical enchantments from the forums! they increase the graphics alot!

Cortex Command: (Side Scrolling Action Strategy game)

Ever dreamed of a game where you build a base (comepletely with parts and stuff) and then you order robots and stuff to defend it? Well this is the game for you! you can equip your soldiers with weapons and stuff and shoto the enemies!
Check out their homepage, the game is still unfinished but it's pretty funny, especially if you know someone who wants to play it.

Clonk: Rage (Side Scolling Action Strategy Game)

Mine oil, gold, stones etc. and make a base! pretty hard to explain. ---> www.clonk.de <--- check it out. Has unique gameplay with big replay value if you play online!

I think thats all...

I'm digging this cause I finished playing Mafia and it was by far the best freeroam I ever played.
It should have been GotY and it was superior to GTA III. And even today is still an awesome game.
The graphic quality it's over the top. I has better graphics than SA and remember, it was lauched around same time as GTAIII.

The script is awesome. It has all the elements a movie(not a game) needs.
The gameplay, far better than any GTA ever was. You doubt? Tell me why.
The city makes you travel in time to the 30's aswell has VC made for the 80's.
The characters have such dept.

It's a truly MAFIA game and if you don't like it. Go back to your ghetto.

that means you Can dodge bullets by tumbling, dashing jump off walls etc. So that you are able to shoot and dodge and stuff.

[Games I do NOT mean:

Counterstrike
Half Life 2
Call Of Duty
SWAT

Similar games I have tried

The specialists
Tremulous ( Yes the alien can walk on walls and stuff) )
Exsteel ( <--- STILL TESTING IT!!! )
S4League ( Really boring, you cant really dodge )

Thank you for advance :)

Max Payne?

although it's a third person perspective game, it has a lot of shooting.

I don't think it has a multiplayer mode ( I have played the singleplayer mode once )

Prey or The Matrix Online (XD).

Prey multiplayer is not really what I'm looking for...

The Matrix online fight system looks kinda sucky and you are stuck in some range when fighting somebody I believe

i wonder why you dont play gunz then?

I do but I have high ping with the game because of my router... It makes the game less fun because you know people miss their shots because of that

Like I said, it's my router.

My router isn't capable of opening multiple ports or something ( portforward.com says that )

The weird thing is, that I WAS able to play without lag for some minutes but then I get lag spikes. ( After forwarding the ports )

Unable to fix the ping unless I get a new router and since it's not my network or anything I can't really say anything about it.

Well, there is a way but its too much work and I think it will give problems with the security of my computer...

Try Exsteel:

It gets boring after some hours though.

Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory

http://www.splashdamage.com/

A free WWII game with many custom maps. If you really love FPS games and like WWII you will like Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory.

Well, I know a cool fighting game but you can't play it in The Netherlands anymore...

And another one closed and is only in Japan/Korea now...

Battle field 2142 or all of them there is a new 1 out cant rember the name

Bf1942 - Too old... Has problems with aiming and stuff

Bf: Vietnam - Boring weapons

Bf2 - Never really like it that much...

Oh! And some stuff:
-You can go to Space to see other worlds

-You conquer them
-NOT Spore or Halo Wars
-You can go to Space to see other worlds

Etc.

Well, Im not sure if you will find the game with those specific features... but as far as RTS games go, you should consider Command and Conquer, Zero hour or CNC 3, and Age of Empires 3...

Halo Wars I believe is a rip-off of Command and Conquer, and Spore is hardly a RTS - there is no strategy involved!

I you have Counter-Strike: Source, you should try some of the free mods you get from steam. Zombie Panic and Insurgency are pretty good, though there's more. I like Insurgency a lot because it's pretty realistic. One shot is possible death, so there's no "100 HP" and you actually need to look down your sight to aim properly, so there's no arcade style crosshair. It's focused on American troops versus the Insurgents with varying maps based in the Middle East, which range from close combat in the streets to huge open maps that give great opportunities to snipers.

Well most FPS games I know are already said, though I didn't see this:

Urban Terror - it's a free game. It may not be the most realistic game, but the gameplay is decent, and I've had a lot of fun on it with friends. Might wanna try it out. There are no bots or singleplayer missions for it. The graphics don't swallow that much, so you are able to get a decent FPS(Framerate/Frames per second) on it, without having some extreme gaming machine.

Or other that match some options

Currently, I found only these:

- Driver 3
- True Crime
- Crackdown Unrealistic
- Saints Row 2

Help me  :help:

:ps: No "Driving Only" please  :)
And No "Unrealistic" please  :D

Post by: Niall on June 11, 2009, 05:39:37 pm
Can anyone reccomend me a good sniper game please.

Here are the requirements:

- Must be available for the Xbox 360.

- Must be able to play online multiplayer.

- Uses some sort of sniper tactics, not just point and shoot like mad.

Any suggestions would be great, thanks.

Title: Recommend me a game!
Post by: Abraham on June 12, 2009, 11:50:11 pm
I'm very picky when it comes to games, it has to be perfect or close to perfect in every aspect of the game for me to enjoy it...
Perfect in every aspect is when every part of the game flows together in a nice harmony, for example bad graphics doesn't necesairly have to be bad graphics... anyhow...

I enjoyed playing World of Warcraft, I also enjoyed playing Fable, and Oblivion / Fallout - however I easily get bored of games like, fable, oblivion and fallout. I did some hard-core gaming on Mount and Blade, at first I tought this game was shit but once I got into it it was amazing, however it got too repetative at the "end".
GTA series I don't even have to mention, it is obviously a good game series, aswell as Godfather and Mafia.
Stuff like Mirrors edge, Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure and Assassins creed have always facinated me, mainly because of the parkour-ish gameplay I suppose...

I'm not a big fan of first person, however I do not have a problem with it, I just haven't found any first person game that suits me (oblivion / fallout and Mirrors Edge is ofcourse an expection and we all know why...). Counterstrike is fun, but like any other fps game I've tried it gets easily boring.

I hate all these, excuse me saying, knock-off asian shit games (for example: Knight Online). They are all the same, shitass graphics, klick-target still-standing combat system, some of them don't even have a jump option - No jumping = no funtime.

I am thinking of trying out Atlantica Online, however I'm not a big fan of turn-based games - bad patience I suppose.
Online or offline doesn't really concern me, ofcourse playing online and / or having a chat where you can talk would be much more fun then sitting alone playing - however it's not prio 1.

I do not have the best computer, and because of this I can't play the newest game, like for example Prototype (:()
I hate when a game isn't freeroam, so I guess that makes prio 1 - Freeroam!

What game would you, recommend for me?

I'd be interested in some suggestions as well, Saints Row is a gang game for the most part, and after watching a few videos on True Crime... It might be worth it. A bit too much of a VC version of a game with extra abilities but maybe worth a try. :)

If he's RPing a cop in VC, why should he get an uniform at SA?

You can get a cop uniform in VC after completing a mission where you have to set a bomb in Tarbrush Cafe.

same,

im also a fan of Tycoon like games, but they get pretty boring after a while,
i have a lot of patience, but sometimes all that waiting for money is horrible

currently im playing Mount&blade, which you also noticed,
awesome game, i dont play it that long yet,
but i understand it will get a bit boring after a while doing the same over and over

well its a cheap game anyway, and fun for a while

also there are rumours about a new faction coming, so an update of the game

and multiplayer is coming also, dont know when though

outside that?
well GTA 4 ofcourse, but i only play Sa and mount&blade myself

edit:

its a demo, though it said full,
but i played it a bit and i dont really like it,
perhaps with a full version to try more

but it looks like hell, and it doesnt make any sense at all

but thats my taste

you can easily get the demo, takes 6 min and then you can do it

I still have my GC with controllers and all and I have a Wii that can play them

                  --On Topic--

Get True Crime series. They're pretty cheap and they're on all major(ly outdated ) consoles. You can frisk, arrest, respond to crimes, collect evidence, c(rappyly)ustomize cars, breake the law, cause neuclear explosions (a glitch with land mines), shoot from cars, see accurate replicas of NYC & LA, listen to a: ok soundtrack for TC:SOLA / Awesome soundtrack for TC:NYC, ride bikes (NYC only), cause fights on the streets, go on rampages, buy clothes, or get a haircut (NYC only), laugh at conversations on the streets, go through a near GTA storyline, and more.

-------------Ingame dialouge---------
Marcus: Police... now get the f--- out...
Nick: (you shoot civilian a civilian) uh... my finger is itchy...
Victim: (being raped behind door, and no... you can't see it, ponks -_-) STOP!!
Rapist: STFU, AND TAKE IT B-----!!
O.o
S----- ----- (unlockable character): Git yo ass out da car 'fore I clap at yo ass' b----

Get TC, James. You'll love it

Ghost Recon is closer to a fictional WW3 than WW2.

Operation Flashpoint is in 1985 I think. But there is probably a couple of WW2 mods with a campaign for it.

I'd recommend Simcity 4 and Simcity 4 Rush Hour expansion pack. U can drive lots of cars. Like lambos, a UFO Mothership, F-18, and a tank, All without restrictions. (well, U have to build the buildings that spawn them) But still, U can destroy stuff, turn people into mutants with a toxic waste truck, And have a volcano pop-up in the middle of the city and re-create the movie "Volcano" or Click the UFO disaster and recreate the movie "Independance Day"  But still, It's ranked my favorite game because of all of the stuff u can do in the game. And don't get me started on modding

Yea, Sim City 4â„¢ have no Minus Point, well except Sim City Societiesâ„¢, it's a bit fantasy
The very good thing on Sim City 4â„¢: Rush Hour is the Tank, u can destroy the building without wasting money
Or use UFO to kidnapp vehicles to reduce traffic jam, that's awesome
Also F-18, Attack Helicopter.

Classic game and never getbored

Crysis was a major disappointment to me. I ordered the special edition with the uhm, exclusive APC code or whatever; I never used it..
I played it like one or two times lol, I mostly fucked around in the sandbox mode. But my videocard sucks, so I didn't use (very) high graphics..

Guys, is Bound in CoJ: Bound in Blood any good? I'm kinda into western movies and culture and all that good shit and I played the demo and it was alright.. but is the full game worth it?

I think The Sims 3 is pretty fun, its not really that boring, there's always something to do, it just isn't a game some people would like.

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assualt on Dark Athena is good, especially if you never played Assault on Butcher Bay as it comes with an updated port.

Dragon Age: Origins
Developer: Bioware

Genre: Computer Role-playing

Dragon Age: Origins, (also known as Dragon Age), is a computer role-playing game currently in development by BioWare's Edmonton studio. BioWare co-CEO Ray Muzyka describes Dragon Age: Origins as a 'spiritual successor' to the Baldur's Gate series, though it is not based on Dungeons & Dragons. There is no tracking of alignment as in previous BioWare games, but the moral choices of the main character throughout the game will still affect the story. The player may save the world whether choosing to be good or evil, but the decisions that the player makes in the process will change the game world – deciding who will become King, for example, and affecting nations and races and their places in the world. These decisions will also influence the companion NPCs, possibly causing an NPC to leave the party or even attack the player. As with the Baldur's Gate series, players will be able to issue orders to NPCs in real time or while the game is paused, and queue up actions such as spells and special attacks.

- Over 400 NPCs - Make relations with them, live with them together - AI is on a top level.

- Big world is opened to you - go where you want

- Choose to be: Warrior, Mage or Rogue? Choice is yours!

- Being alone is dangerous in the world of Dragon Age! With help of your companions, you will do quests and kill mobs more easily!

And I'm really not bothered about waiting for a release in say, the third quarter.

Not really into NFS, for some reason.
I fancy more arcade'ish racing games, such as GRID, DiRT2 etc. I've been looking into the new F1 but if I'm right about Codemasters, it will be more like a clone of GRID and DiRT2. FlatOut series and the Blur were good too, but I've played them all through so many times. (http://e.deviantart.net/emoticons/d/dummy.gif)

I have a couple of points that I would appreciate if they are filled;

  • A good storyline, not some crappy lowprice story.
  • A "classy" style, mafia look. I'd rather take 30s - 70s then today.
  • A attention thief, something that really makes me want to continue.
  • A game that offer me some funny dialogs and such.

If you have such a game in mind, you're godlike!

Wth buddy, too much Dead Space?
Correction : You can play as a Marine, Alien ( XENOMORPH ) or a Predator.
And yes the game is very good despite the bad reviews.

Mass Effect 2
Also recommend it, Mass Effect 2 is more of a shooter than Mass Effect 1 but it's best played if you play Mass Effect 1 first.

Also note that (if I'm not mistaking :P ) IF you play this game, your an undercover cop, so you still will have criminal events and interactions.

Also, I heard a lot of Mass effect not only here but with RL friends, can someone possible link me to a good review of it or even describe some of the game itself? I also want to know if I really need to play the first to enjoy the second one, because I'll probably get the second one only.

ME1 - http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/masseffect/review.html?tag=tabs%3Breviews (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/masseffect/review.html?tag=tabs%3Breviews)
ME2 - http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/masseffect2workingtitle/review.html?tag=tabs%3Breviews (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/masseffect2workingtitle/review.html?tag=tabs%3Breviews)

There's a 1 year and several months gap between the 1st one and the 2nd one. I would say Mass Effect 2 is more emmerssive.
However, having the knowladge of the story in the 1st game really helps, besides you carry your decisions from mass effect 1 to mass effect 2. For example meeting a Mass Effect 1 crewmate in ME2 would be weird like " Errrr who's this guy.... " .

PROTIP: Play the first one, then the second one. If you play the second one first, you'll be kicking yourself later for not playing the first. Trust me.

I'd like a fancy action game..
Now I love the Mafia series, along with the GTA styles, one problem is, I'm done with'em all and, so to say, waiting for another one in the series. Now I hope there are some awesome "look alikes" undiscovered for me! :D

I have a couple of points that I would appreciate if they are filled;

I recommend you The Saboteur.
Very nice third person game that takes place in France, Paris. It takes place during WWOII, excellent game!

You simply described the sabotouer. I have that game, and it's epic ( tho my pc is too crappy to run it right, but It still PWNS!! ).

Great story line, takes place in france, world war 2, as Ryan said.

You can alot of missions + free world, if you wanna call it that way, quality is very high, and it's simply super fun.

+ If you hate nazis as I Do, this is THE game for you.
I just love killing em'.

If you want The Saboteur, it's 6.99 in EA-store.

I got Battlefield Bad Company 2 + Vietnam expansion.
The Vietnam expansion is really worth buying, great fun, looks very nice, real '70s style.
It's 9.09euro atm, u can also buy Bad Company 2 and Vietnam together for about 22euro.

One of the best game I ever played, if not THE best, is Assassin's Creed Brotherhood.
The single player is fantastic, the quality is great, the only problem in it- the multiplayer on pc.
I cant play the multi-player beacuse of it's retardation.

A lot of games are like 75% off on Steam right now, so it's a great chance to buy games cheap, but there's only like 10 hours left of that deal.

I finally bought myself Counter Strike (both 1.6 and Source) and Audiosurf.

Well I Guess you cant run those but I'd still recommend them : Bad company 2 and medal of honor.
And a game that I think you will be able to run is Splinter cell conviction. I liked it, it's nice, got a co-op.
Also a game that's nice, tho I dont think you'll be able to run it, check it out if you can on the internet, Assassin's Creed brotherhood. It's a fantastic game, one of the best i've ever played.
You can also try and download APB which is free, I heard it's ok, tho havn't played it. it looks nice tho.

If you want a FPS game, then definitley BC2, and if your pc will be able to run BF3, then ofcourse wait for BF3.
If you want a 3rd person game, with a long story line and in old era, then chose assassin's Creed brotherhood.

You'd play BC2 with lag..Not even worth expecting BF3. Really, Try to get a new CPU and abit more RAM, and you should be good to go..A Quad core would be good.

I'm looking for stealth games, or a game about special forces with awesome graphics you know something more like COD MW2 Task force 141 and the CIA in Black ops. Also I'd really appreciate it if you find stealth game for me with 'awesome graphics'. And tactical FPS games are also nice, beside that I want a new game, new style, something new. I didn't know about MW2 in the past so who knows there is probably a new game out there that I have no idea about it.

Just consider that to run BF3 ( I'm saying this in-case you're going to buy it ), You will need an incredibly strong PC with windows 7/Vista.
And about 3rd person stealth games, Hitman is realy good, I think that Splinter cell aswell, tho the latest splinter cell ( Conviction ) Is less stealth than the others, as you're main mission is just to kill everyone and get information. But, I think you can get Chaos theory, which I think is from 2005, but has realy good quality. ( considering the time it was released ). Just for your notification, releases date of the 3 games I mentioned-  BF3- October 25, MW3- November 8, ACR- November 15.

As doogi said, Do NOT get black ops. The campaign is awesome, like in every other CoD game, but the multiplayer kind sucks, trust me, I've been playing it for 2 weeks and quit, it's just not fun.
Now, Bad company 2 is an epic Multi-player game, The single-player is ok, nothing more than that, but overall it's a great MP game. And I dont think you should get medal of honor, it's nice, but nothing more.. it's like Black ops, campaign was excellent, in my opinion, but the MP was kinda sukish.

From the trailers etc on YouTube I already see I wouldn't like it that much. At least when compared to the original Deus Ex.

While watching YouTube videos, you can often find comments about people playing the original DX for like 10 years and still finding new dialogue.

If you only play for SP then try out -

Army Of Two: 40th Day

The weapon customization if just insane.
You can change any part of your weapon with another weapons features.

The story is worthy, plus you can come across situations that can effect the story as you progress along.

It can run brotherhood with zero lagg, bad company 2 SP with 0 lagg.

Guys can a intel I7 run BF3 and MW3 and revelations?
(Yes, the processor is great, its got a built in intel graphic card thats pretty high aswell)
It can run brotherhood with zero lagg, bad company 2 SP with 0 lagg.
No, Intel cards are NOT for gaming.

and try Prototype 2 people, you won't regret it xD

The MMO world really has expanded and commercialised greatly in the last half decade or more.

Does anyone here play any particular ones?

Great job, and that is a nice list. I would recommend Civilization 4 and Dawn of War II to the RTS games Civilization 4 is actually turn-based.

Also, Rainbox 6: Vegas 2 is a great FPS.
