Argonath RPG is looking for webmasters.
The requirements:

1. Daily activity for news
2. Good knowledge of Gaming World
3. Forum activity for the news on main page
4. Knowledge of web mastering
5. Designing possibilities
6. FTP experience
7. Knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy

Application:
free... (put any information you would like to tell us)

Possible questions:

* "Will I have an access to the site?"
Answer: partly

* "Should I know Joomla?"
Answer: It helps if you have some knowledge

* "Should I know HTML/PHP"
Answer: It helps if you have some knowledge

* "Will it help me to get admins rights on server?"
Answer: if you will prove as webmaster and roleplayer on game server

* "Will I work independent or under control?"
Answer: Some positions you will have to ask the Argonath RPG owners

* "Can I change the site navigation?"
Answer: you can suggest and after agreement with the site owners you are free to work on your own

Hello dear argonatians.
This is my Webmaster application.

Well, as you all probably I am pretty active, wich is a pluss. I made a website once, wich is a popular chat site for teenagers around my area. I've also been around here since 2007, these years have been teriffic. I know all rules, forum rules, IC rules.
But It happens I breake them sometimes, but I can assure you that wont happen again, I got a new life, a new start.
I got photoshop, but I has no skills in it, but I am improving each day.

Some facts about me:

My name is Aksel, I am thirteen years old, and I live in Norway.
I live with my father , and mom, which can be a pest sometimes.
I spend alot of time infront of my computer. Playing, and sitting on the forum.

Hello there Argonath Main Admins,

Hereby I am applicating to the open vacanies as webmaster
I have an good view, how to be able to hold the website updated and looking nice for other people.
Daily activity for news is a good point, and I am very active on Argonath, so that wouldn't be a problem.

I have a good knowledge of the gaming world and my forum activity is also high.

In my past, I have had some more experience with multiple CMS and HMTL (not really my best side)
I have worked with Joomla! (like Argonath Main Page) and more like the special for gamers designed CMS: Webspell.

I can make good ideas to the Argonath Homepage and/or forums.
I already got an preview for what I would do first, this was my idea for weeks already.

I've got FTP experience in the past, but moslty uploading new files - changing folder permissions (CHMOD'ing).

I think I know the Argonath RPG rules very well and will follow them strictly.
This will be a great chance for me, as this is where I am doing my study for also.
Starting in Septembre.

I hope, I can get a chance to take this position.

Dear Administration of Argonath,

My name is Ryan Caltson.
I am 16 years old,  and this involves applying for the Webmaster application.
There are several reasons why i am applying for this, mostly beceause i find myself quite suitable for this function, is

beceause my studies / job are for 60% hosting, maintaining & updating of the website.

Requirements



1. Daily Activity for news

Activity for news is a requirement i'm sure about i can meet, As i'm exactly doing the same on the Las Venturas Armed Limo

2. Good knowledge of Gaming World.

I have a good knowledge about the gaming world. This involves the games, recent releases, news on multiplayer clients as

SA:MP, MTA:SA, VC:MP etc. These are also parts that have to be taken in caution, as we're still a community mostly based on those multiplayer clients, therefore the news of it has to get more priority except news from Argonath itself.

3. Forum Activity for the news on main page

Almost quite the same as the first point, However there has to be made sure that all the news of the current webpage
has to be mostly related to Argonath Community only, Meaning news like Events coming up, Concerts from Argonath Rock bands, Gang news, Business sections etc.. It takes alot of work, but would make news very interesting to read for all members.. Just my opinion on that.

4. Knowledge of Web mastering

I Have quite much knowledge of web mastering, as Experience. At my work i've been responsible for the products on the website, their prices, and their lay-out and describtion. Also as for Argonath,i am updating the ALS Forum, with knowledge of SMF. This is why i also am quite sure the 'news" part on forums will be absolutely no problem.
I have advanced knowledge of HTML and basic PHP - knowledge. I am currently learning Joomla!, as i master Adobe
Dreamweaver and ready to move on to Joomla.

5. Design Possibilities

I didn't do much design yet, but most of my designs were created in Photoshop. I also created visitation cards for a business

(A Real business, of course ) using Microsoft Office 2007 Publisher. Also web design is something i master, however my knowledge about this is yet not very advanced.

6. F.T.P. Experience

Have experience with FTP, Aswell as Windows shares. I Know how to acces / add / create an FTP- Server / File.

7. Knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy

I Know the Argonath RPG Rules, As the policy. I Agreed to them before.


This were the requirements, and what i do qualify for. I hope on a positive response, and i will be also happy to give you the website's i took part in ( work, Argonath, etc... ), but due to some privacy issues i will not share them in public.

Motivation

My motivation for this function is already very well. I will be ready from the day i will get accepted, and will gladly continue that, with keeping up good work, as in the points i have explained above.
I do understand Argonath RPG Community has a reputation to keep up, and that's why as Webmaster you have to make sure i'll have to keep up the tasks given by me, and listen to suggestions other people have to say, Beceause of what i think, Listening to the community, is the way people will stay attracted to the website happening or Argonath as they'll see what they suggested. Getting the community involved, by putting up pictures of the community, Pictures they can take themselves, wich make them also getting involved.

I have never been flaming on the forums so I should fit as Web Master.

I wonder what the actual task of the 'webmaster' will be. Login in to Joomla, posting some news and uploading a picture can't be called 'web mastering'.

Implementing Joomla modules, or writing them yourself, changing the design and so on, can be defined as it. And I strongly doubt most people that post here have that ability.

If you don't want to applicate, just don't post mate. Aragorn made it pretty clear what the actual task will be, and if there are additional tasks, they would be told in private after first webmasters are accepted.

1. Daily activity for news: I am very active, and I am always checking for new news that appears.
2. Good knowledge of Gaming World: I guess with this, I can finally say gaming is like a part of my life, I am always up to date on new releases, the hottest games out, and all things related to games basically.
3. Forum activity for the news on main page: As stated above, I am always active checking for news, so no change here
4. Knowledge of web mastering: I guess I have a deep knowledge of this, I have my own forum that I made (www.satp.ulmb.com/forum) which I think is coming along quite nicely, so I have pretty much mastered SMF, and have been asked by a couple of people to make a website for them, which brought a sense of accomplishment to me.
5. Designing possibilities: I made a few designs for random things before, but nothing to advance. I have never extensively used PS before, but it is for sure a thing that I would be willing to learn and take further, so my designing abilities can, and I hope, will go further.
6. FTP experience: Have used SmartFTP on a number of occasions, so I have quite a bit of experience when it comes to FTP.
7. Knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy: I know the rules and the policy, and I do agree with them.

I know HTML and PHP a little bit, I am still learning and I believe I am getting very good at it, so I hope to master this sometime in the future.

•๋●  I Believe that the design of the website is an essential phase, in which global thinking is conducted, as a first step, the objectives of the site and the potential target and, secondly, the structure and navigation. Yes and Good Knowledge of the domaine which the site is built for is also important; Im an active and smart Poster, i have good communication skills, i can speak French, English, little Spanish & Arabic. I have enough experience and good knowledge of Gaming Worlds and Communites.

•๋●  I dont really have much knowledge of Web Mastering and creating HTML files. As there is always a second way using: a HTML editor WYSIWYG Known as " What You See Is What You Get " and i know this is a practical solution for creating Web pages. On the other hand, i can be pretty good at designing, creating smart and suitable pictures; I can use several drawing softwares. A website must always contain pictures and good designs to enliven the site (EX: GIF, JPG or PNG).

•๋●  File Transfer Protocol. I only know that is a program that allows you to move files easly from one computer to another. i used it several times for SAMP Server Hosting using MySQL Database; but unfortunatly i never used it on a Web Site.

•๋●  Yes I do have knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy, however i break the rules sometimes on forum due to some reasons i know each policy and each single rule made to maintain order in the Community. Good that the French Rules were made, i really liked the idea i was happy to see that.

Hello dear Argonath, This is my Application to become a Webmaster.

First I would to say that I'm studies on a IT school called John Bauer.
I have alot of experience about HTML and CSS, I'm pretty new on PHP but I learning.

I working a lot with Photoshop, Excel and got the most of all basic products by Adobe.
I have been working on some sites but have never been a success because of lack of money to get a real Domain.
Anyway, I wish myself good luck  ;)

Hello, I would first like to tell you about my webmastering experience:
Nearly 5 years ago I created my first website with an easy page building system, then I discovered the files inside the host with the FTP acces. Later I learned HTML. After this I joined a Webmasters Club in school. Actually, we learned there more of designing. I designed some sites for school projects. I am now interested in PHP and MySQL. I am learning them too. At the moment I have my own site of hosting. I help some people if they need help with their websites.

Off topic: I am also interested in electronics. I am now making a robot with my friends. Learning some scripting languages like Pascal, PIC Basic. I was also accepted for SA-MP trial scripting but I was inactive and did not carry on with Pawn language.

I believe I have all the requirements in the list.
Also, I know some Joomla basics: like setting up, posting and editing etc. (I also have an education set about Joomla.)
I know(and am learning) HTML/PHP.

Hi, I am Mike from the UK, I am a police officer and IT support consultant for a company called TNT.
I know some PHP and Some HTML, I know how to use and SQL Database and I also know some Ajax*.
I can make nice looking sites and I will post some links so you can see my work soon.
Of course I have FTP experience.

Hello,

I am 17 years old and I have been working with computers since I was 12.  I have worked on servers (hosting) since I was 13.  I hosted MuOnline and Counter Strike (mainly administered).  I have an extensive knowledge of website design in Dreamweaver, as well as the basic knowledge of HTML coding from scratch.  I do not know how to code PHP.  I have a pretty good knowledge of MySQL databases, which is the type of databases that are being used for these forums.  I just got out of a class last semester that taught me SQL (Structured Query Language).  I would like to provide my expertise because I have a vast knowledge of managing websites and working with databases.  Also, I can design things in HTML if someone lays out the design for me.  I am a very quick learner.  If I need to learn something and someone is able to teach it to me, I pick it up very quickly.

As for FTP (file transfer protocol), I have been hosting those since I started hosting servers.  I know how to use them very well.  For example, the filezilla FTP server requires an FTP client (if using XAMPP web server package) you would need to set the options for your FTP client to Active so that you can connect to the FTP server.

I play the SA:MP server on Argonath and I enjoy it very much.  Even though I have not been playing here long I am very active and I plan to be staying for a very long time.  All I ask is that this application be considered, and put on hold if it does not qualify because I have not been with Argonath for long enough.  I will completely understand this and will be patient if that's what it comes to.

A little about myself: I am a very great Roleplayer.  As some of you may know me in-game I am a cop and do my job the best I can.  I have roleplayed countless traffic stops and arrests on Argonath SA:MP.  Also, I have applied for Cadet position and my application can be viewed here (http://arpd.argonathrpg.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=34&topic=4828.0).  As you can see many people believe that I am a great roleplayer and that I am up for the job as a cop.  I own 3 computers, 2 desktops and one laptop. I love working with computers and especially troubleshooting things.  For some reason it's the challenge that I like.  I love to play the guitar.  I've been playing for about 4 years and it's a great activity that calms me down when I'm flustered.  I have a dog (Buddy) and a cat (Gunny) which are very great pets.  I believe that's about it.  I hope to become a part of the Web Master team as I believe I can provide good help to Argonath.

Did a few sites, and i am making Layouts and templates, also i did some forums, so i have total knowledge to administrate it and more.

Only main site...
1. For two sites there will not be a time
2. ARPD site will be leaded police officers...

How will the people be contacted if accepted to join the webmaster team?  Also will there be a test that will be given, such as an HTML knowledge test that we need to pass to be accepted? I'm just brainstorming out loud, just let me know when you have time.

I used to run a site named everlessguild.com, however we closed it down recently as no one had the finance to keep it running,
altough I only play in-game period-wise (so to say), I have always been active on the forums.
The gaming world is a part of my world :)
I know the rules of Argonath RPG, and it's policy.
I do not have great knowledge of Joomla, nor FTP, however I do not lack it.

There's no point for me to write anything more, you know who I am.

Thanks for your opinion.  Also that's the bare minimum that I can do with Dreamweaver.  It was for a class, so all I did was make it to get by.  Also as you can see my real name is Kegan Reichert, as it is posted on my website.

I can say I am active, maybe not that much in Argonath's site, but I am too active in other ones.. I'm checking the [ARPD/Argo] news almost everytime i get on pc, and open my browser..
2. Good knowledge of Gaming World
I have a good knowledge of games, i am always updated [meaning by games on pc] and have or always testing the new ones... and also a PC Gamer Addict haha, Prefer to play First Shooter and Racing games like Need For Speed ones
3. Forum activity for the news on main page
Well, I am not yet that active on forum [Argo's], but i am starting to be like, as I am really Active in some other's like my own... or WS and ARPD
4. Knowledge of web mastering
Well, I currently own nearly 27 sites [I Say Nearly, because some of them are still under construction, and sites are not in any kind of freehost, we have our own servers-domains] with 2 other friends of my, I've been working in Forums [IPB,SMF,phpBB,vBulletin(licensed),FreeBoard] for 4 years, and i'm really good, on adding mods, creating small ones, etc, I am an expert in HTML Language, I am good on CSS too, and i'm willing to start learning/coding in PHP
5. Designing possibilities
I Can design themes/styles on vBulletin [Have done 2 on vBulletin and 2 in IPB so far since now, PM me to see them..], and i got 3 years experience on Adobe's Photoshop, I have worked on Photoshop CS 2 and CS 3, and also in Adobe's Illustrator CS3, where i had created just 2 pictures while testing [I also got online gallery in photobucket, with my work, of signatures/avatars made mostly in Photoshop, for requests...]
6. FTP experience
File Transfert Protocol aka FTP, is a protocol or as else a way to upload files on a server... i mostly use FileZilla for that, just to upload or edit [php/html] files for my sites...
7. Knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy
I do know them, and not willing to brake even once...

I'm a PC Expert, can solve every possible problem anyone can have, and give support as much I can.. I personally love PC Tuning irl, and I always do everything for FREE, I am not in need of money or anything, as I do what I do just like a hoobie, or to kill my free time... and I am almost 6-12 hours every-day on the pc everyday...

Hmmm been thinking about it.. getting more and more anxious to possibly apply. Another quick question, would it be that big of a problem if you had more experience with forum maintenance than the website? (Also would that affect if you get accepted or not?)

 Well, I don't want to ramble on about my whole history but I joined Argonath in late 2007, about a month after the 3.0 scripts were released. I'll be honest right now, I love Argonath. It's my first online multiplayer community (believe it!) and I honestly can't believe it myself. I love it here and I'm so glad I've made it to where I am now. It's amazing though how fast the time goes by, how innocent and so new to it all back then. As time progressed though, I saw people come, people leave, and I couldn't even imagine what It'd be like to be them.. I mean I found a place in here, somewhere always to refuge to.. but anyway, back on topic!

   As the months and years went on I've grown, from regular, to admin, officer to Captain and currently Deputy Chief in the ARPD. I know for a fact that of course, the main forum is a MUCH greater responsibility and will require a lot more strength to help in but I'm pretty certain I'll be able to help as much as possible, and that's all I wish to do, lend a helping hand. So, as you just read Aragorn, Gandalf, anyone else that's my inspiration for wanting to apply this evening. So now for the statistics (*nervous*), well I'm one of the "night" guys, if you want to call it that and I'm pretty proud. Sadly, I'm one of the few semi night guys left, not including our pals from South America :) .

   My experience with some sort of "webmastering" would be the ARPD forums. I've searched all through that I possibly could because managing the forum is something that I would love to do. I would be more than happy to update news, keep the forum up to date with ingame events, messages, etc. and just overall help improve anything I can.

   I think I've proven myself pretty worthy, I know I'm not the most "poster" kind of person and I'm quite shy but I'm willing to help. I haven't a lot of experience with actual FTP, and I'm not the best artist but would be more than willing to learn. I'm always crawling around the forums as soon as I get the chance, and am active ingame as well. Not as much as most would prefer but throughout the weekends and when I can I am.

   I have a good bit of knowledge of different games, and of course can always research if needed! Activity in general is always (and can be) filled as much as possible and times like this (especially on weekends) I'm always free and can help update when things are quiet and would be more than grateful to help out with the main web page. Lastly, my knowledge of the rules and policy, are of course, understood and respected.

I've been here for almost 2 years and have respected Argonath, it's amazing community, amazing gaming quality, and most importantly the ability to never give up no matter how hard it gets and am PROUD to say I'm still here, still holding my head up high, and still trying to keep going. Now that that's over I think I'll try and go stop shaking now :))

Dear, Argonath Head Leaders.
Here is my apply for the work as Webmaster.


1. Daily activity for news ; I'm on the Forum every day like 2-6 hours.
2. Good knowledge of Gaming World ; I did get my PS One when I was 3 years old. I got my first computer at a age of 5, made the first website with my dad when I was 7 years. Now I'm 14. So I've hade gaming in my life for 11 years.
3. Forum activity for the news on main page ; I'm always open for news.
4. Knowledge of web mastering ; I have done a few easy made websites, with "Spruz" and so on. Also I've helped my dad with his work site. I also have a little knowledge to HTML.
5. Designing possibilities ; I'm photoshopping, so design wont be the hardest thing in this job.
6. FTP experience ; File transfer protocol? Had some experience to that to. I've got Core FTP Pro.
7. Knowledge of Argonath RPG Rules and Policy ; I know all the rules of Argonath RPG ;)

Application:

Hi, I'm David. I'm 14 years old and living in Norway. I've got good experience with internet/PC etc.
Only thing I feel I really miss is my Joomla experience, I've tried hard to learn it. But I've never found a soulution.
I know HTML and FTP good. I'd like to design and improve the website with news and suggest some changes.


Possible questions:

* "Will I have an access to the site?"
Answer: partly

* "Should I know Joomla?"
Answer: It helps if you have some knowledge

* "Should I know HTML/PHP"
Answer: It helps if you have some knowledge

* "Will it help me to get admins rights on server?"
Answer: if you will prove as webmaster and roleplayer on game server

* "Will I work independent or under control?"
Answer: Some positions you will have to ask the Argonath RPG owners

* "Can I change the site navigation?"
Answer: you can suggest and after agreement with the site owners you are free to work on your own


That's all I can remember by now, so now it's just to cross my fingers and hope for the best.

I am Jonty, and this is my application + introduction.


I am Jonty, 15 years old living in New Zealand. I have a cat called Daisy. I enjoy playing SAMP and coding.
Up until recently I have been developing IV-MP, which allows connections to a server running in C#, for GTA IV.

- I am fluent in HTML and I am learning and practising PHP.
- I know mySQL well and work with it in many C#, VB6, and web-site applications.
- I know how to navigate Joomla! and I use it very often on clan websites.
- I have experience with FTP as I used to help manage a very popular website (http://otaku-studios.com)
- Though I have been banned twice, I have a good knoweledge of Argonath RPG Rules, and its policy.
- Knoweledge of web-mastering is that I own many websites, 7 at my last count.
- I design alot, but am always willing to learn more.

To all applicants, very nice. Hopefully one or some of you will be helping in improve this site, though personally its pretty damn good. Never seen a 404 at least, not yet  :D.

On another note, I think that Jonty would be a help, not that others wouldn't. But I support Jonty, and as Mike said, he knows what he is doing. I have seen him work, not actually him working, but seen what he can do. I still continue to work with him. He is, to me, qualified as a webmaster, hope the dev's will agree.  ;)

But, thats just an opinion, so again good luck to all, see some people I think look qualified, and hope to see someone's work sometime.  :)

My Name is Watti, I have been Creating and Developing websites for a Number of years now, i have used the CMS called Joomla, a Number of times Creating a Professional Website. While also Creating the Website with HTML CSS and PHP Coding, i have been inducted to using SMF and VBulletin as Forums while i have learnt how to Properly set items of interest out. When i have used these websites, i have used the FTP Servers Provided to Upload and update the Websites.

I am Active Daily, i do not post because i dont wish to, as i am improving my English skills and want to show them off when every one least expects me to say things right. My Knowledge of the gaming world is From Gamespot.com and other gaming websites, i also read New releases, Reviews, previews of New and Old Games. Designing Possibilities, for me, comes from My own and others Ideas, i try to incorperate Alot of the Players ideas into my Work.
I know the rules Realy well because i have spent a number of years here, with only 1 Bann, Which i have learnt from.

The only way you can remove them is to remove the ad module completely.
