This says it all... Just because I live in Estonia I cannot watch some of my favourite videos... Youtube has really gone down. It used to be a place where people could watch videos and listen to songs. Now Jewtube just removes stuff. That's not the worst part. The first part is stated in my quote. Why the f can't I watch like 25% of Youtube's videos because of my nation? That's freaking... I don't know what it is. Facism?

I think the point is that noone should have to run a proxy to see a video that others can see because of where they live. This is clearly a prime example of bulls**t Bureaucracy. As one famous quote says:

YouTube has definately gone down since Google took over. Some things, which seem to cause problems for us, I actually don't mind. Such as the usage of certain music in videos, which later end up being taken off. That I do not have a problem with, as almost all of us use music in our videos which aren't necessarily legit.
What I do have a problem with, is the constant maintainance schedules, yet, I see nothing changing, apart from a few new features being added, which, let's face it, aren't actually needed. What we need is for YouTube to become what it was before. Right now, the YouTube community is extremely slow. A video can take "forever" to load sometimes.
Despite that, like I said at another forum, I will just keep my thoughts on YouTube as if they are still a work in progress. I'll give them about 1 - 2 years to see if anything changes for the better. If it doesn't, then I may just change my mind. Who knows, the guys behind the scenes may have a host of surprising things yet to be done, so only time will tell. ;)

Oh, wait, yes, It's Skype's fault that Skype has cheaper price in 1.5/2.0 times than the regular provider.....Oh, by the way, i remember on famous russian tracker there was a thread about provider's prices of Stream at the Katherineburg......cheaper would be not having telephone at all.

I don't honestly care about the music (Yes I do listen music from old cassettes sometimes :mad: ) as I have CDs of my favourite bands. It just pisses me off when Chase or Kitsune sends me a video and I get "This video is not allowed in your country or domain" or whatever the message was.

That's another good idea Josh, as I believe as long as there is credits to the singer(s) and producer(s) of the song, somewhere in the video or description, there is a pretty good chance it won't get muted.

Easy way to solve, if you have Firefox then download and install the FoxyProxy (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2464) add-on. It's easy enough to use, I get my ip's that I want to use from here (http://www.samair.ru/proxy/) and then I add them to FoxyProxy. As far as I know using a proxy is not illegal as I think internet law states that a person has the right to protect their identity. But if you want to use it for other reasons such as bypassing country restrictions on youtube then that might be different, and it's up to you if you want to do it. Personally, I do it.

Skype has no price it allows to call for free... Skype calls do mostly the international calls... International calls are not expensive by phone as well...
Internet is a paradise for those who do not want to pay money... All those who suggest resources do use the products of other companies... For phone companies its the same as mr.Altair worked but did not get money... Will you like to work for nothing?
And Skype is not cheaper... For using Skype you need to buy minimum a computer... No any phone company does that...

In Portugal, phone company all have Internet. Actually, having Internet+phone or just phone costs the same. My internet company know this. And just 2 months ago they upgraded my contract for free, now I have free short-distance calls.
And what tecnologies have the phone companies put money into. The phones haven't changes for years.
And if skype doesn't work, use msn, teamspeak, ventrilo, you choose. VoiP is free and it will be cause voip is just like surfing the web, they can tell apart what kind of information you're sending or receiving.
And skype to phone is cheaper cause skype basically send the audio through the internet to the other country and then to the phone by the normal method, so you end up paying for a short-distance call instead of an international on. And the money goes to the phone-company
So Aragorn, I call shenigans and phone company lobby is to blame.

As in Mobile Phone companies or regular telephone line providers, as they both provide internet, even though the regular telephone companies offer a better price and connection due to the fact that they basically own most of the landlines the internet connections are transmitted through.

To send data from one computer to another by the internet is unsafe by default. Most company network administrators are very reluctant about giving people the possibility to use Skype as it compromises network safety.
Skype is extremely easy to listen in to for script kiddies and industrial spies.
Now think about the next thing. To send the data from one computer to another it needs to travel by some method.
This method are usually either satellites or glassfibre cables.
The big network cables and commmunication sattellites are owned by.... the phone companies.
The highest cost of internet for the providers is data traffic. And that money goes straight in to the phone providers pockets. So even if you Skype 'for free' you pay the phone copmanies for the data traffic. If it is in a monthly fixed bill, nobody cares.
Why would Skype close Russia ? Not because its Russia who wants it closed....
Its because Russians use programs that use skype, MSN or ICQ but block or do not dispay the ads. No ads = no money for Skype. Skype gets no money...they close the network.

Russia is one of the kings of pirated software, why do you think The Pirate Bay based one of their backup server's there? Due to internet laws, that is what all of this is basically about, internet laws, stupid , uneccessary laws that again all lead back to one thing - money, that's all any company in the world or internet has been after since day 1, is money, and if they fail to do that. They just shut down their branch that isn't makking what they should, hence what is happening with Skype.

Personally I am pissed off by the WoW installation bullcrap. I've been patching WoW for like 1 and a half hours just to play WoW with Altair... It's like freaking sluggish. It's like 10 GB of material at most and it takes 2 hours to complete while when I install Oblivion (4GB, a bit more) it takes less than 10 minutes... They should really fix crap like that. They should also give people the choice of patching as my friend can't play WoW anymore because the patches made it too big for his hard drive...

It means when you do your researches and work on places where you have to communicate with people you have to speak that language. It doesn't mean that you can't speak Russian within your own crowd. Anyway if you live in Ida-Virumaa, you don't even have to know Estonian because all facilities Police,Fire Department, Hospital, Schools, local authorities they all speak Russian. That means to me, that there is at least 1 county of 15 where I actually would be in difficulties to live - Even though it is still my home country. When I enter Ida-Virumaa - for me it is like entering a foreign country, really.
When it comes to improving Russian language in Estonia I don't get it, why they didn't proceed with the old laws which states: Estonian government supports all cultures that are present on Estonian territory. Because like I've heard from so many people, even Estonian themselves, that they see how Russians who are borned in Estonia can't really write Russian anymore as their grammar just is so bad. I think if government would support the progress Russian culture in Estonia it would also make Estonian culture more acceptable for them.

Well if you read Estonian constitution then you will find that it states that Estonia will stand up for Estonians so that Estonian as a nationality would survive. Now this is just my own opinion that just because of that surviving the government from 1991 - present doesn't support Russians here so much, so that they would learn the official language, which will ease the communication between two nations in this country and we know that from communications some get married and from there comes babies and children are essential for surviving. But like I already said, that is just my opinion.

I remember visited them once, not so long. When I arrived, my aunt Silva was crying - I asked her "Mis juhtus?". She pointed at the TV and I saw the statue, which you call "the monument of freedom". The monument which has the same symbol the Estonian SS division had. Later she told me that she hates the government. She also said, that the Soviet Government was much better than the current one. As well as all of my Russian AND Estonian friends (Yes, I sure have Estonian friends, which are really nice, at least they don't make up false accusations).
She once told me that she used to live much better in the Estonian NSV, people were better, there was no "conflict" between the Russians and Estonians. Even if you lived in Leningrad, it still was prestigious to go on a vacation to Tallinn.

In 1944 they became part of the USSR, and once they left this they hurried to get in to another union... EU and Schengen.

I always get salt on my 'fries' at fast food outlets. If you don't get salt, eat about 3/4 of them, then go to them and say "I just realised there's no salt on my chips!!!!"
