Hello Guys, i got a quick problem.
My pc has a shit graphics card, it can just about play samp but when i went on can you run it,
the graphics card failed, it only needed Pixel Shader.
i got a £20 - £30 budget, and i will buy one on ebay or bid for one on ebay
will it work fine if i get an
256mb graphics card?
need quick advice.
-
it will work fine on 256mb.. But with that budget, why don't you buy a new one?
-
Thanks a lot Ryan
but when u say 'it will work fine' does it mean it is going to run smoothly? or a bit of lagg etc.
my ISP is Sky Broadband

ok, i found a good graphics card.
but i dont kno if my Motherboard can support it.
can anyone help me?
i dont kno hwo to view specs but my computer name and brand is a
Dell Dimension 1100

i found a little overview of your computer specifications, ( http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim1100/EN/SM/specs.htm#wp1076752 ).
A videocard of 256MB will run your game definatly smooth, you will not experience any lagg issue playing GTA:SA.
You are now running on a Integrated Video Chip, meaning you don't have a graphics card at all, except a little chip with very less memory to game on. (Maximum 64MB)
I saw your expantion bus (the thing where you put a graphics card in) is PCI, making it compatible with alot of current graphics cards, However i'm not entirely sure of this since the specs didn't say it was PCI-Express...
I recommend to take a look inside your PC and see if your PC has neither one of these two connectors :
The upper One

The Highlighted One
(http://www.karbosguide.com/books/pcarchitecture/images/828.jpg)
Here is a little 'scedule" of the 4 types of connectors. Only PCI-Express or AGP matters for the videocard. You should have at least one of them in your PC.

This should work fine.
Cheapest 128mb card on eBay at the moment.

I don't think the Dell Dimension 1100 has a graphics card slot on the oem mobo at all.
-
Thanks for the tip ryan,
i will open up my PC tomorrow.

Just read the requirements that GTA:SA calls for on the bottom of the box.

Maybe clean it sometimes? That is.. just.. omg I can't descripe that :D
If you want to buy new vid. card, else you buy new mobo then vid. card, or weaker vid. card for PCI slot.. HD 3450 runs SA without lag, dunno about PCI slot..
-
yeah, i could make a dust bunny with that :) lol
yeah just waiting for my mum to wake up and im gonna vaccum it etc and also gonna take of the graphics card.
P.S with t he grahics card to i just pull it out?

Remember to work with the power cable disconnected ;)
Take off the screw (on the attached picture) and pull it out.
When you're going to put it back, apply even force so it slides fully and not at only one side, and put the screw back.
-
If it's actually PCI only and not PCI-e then you will have to go for old graphic cards.
-
Since your motherboard has no AGP or PCI-E Card, i recommend you to look out for a PCI card. One card i am quite sure of it'll run fine is the Ati AX700, Watch out you only look for the PCI version, beceause this card has several versions around. Reading the box should say it's PCI or not. ;)
-
ATI x1550 is far better then the x700..
thats the highest ATI goes on PCI regular
so, get a x1550 (or x1500) if you cant find that, then a x1300

yeah ive got 3450 on my laptop, runs gta:sa rather smooth.
-
It's a very old PC, They stopped making those in 2004. :|
I'd consider buying a new one, if I were you.
-
BUMP from page 3.
I cant afford a new comp :S
and after i re-read what u guys sed.
i shoudl look for a graphics card with only PCI
but will the old graphic cards run SA smoothyl?
im soon getting £50+ so im lookin to get around £30 from ebay a brand new/used graphics card.
then like £20 for wireless keyboard n mouse :P
-
hehe i dont understand anything about Vid.Card and mother Board
But in wake up Pc i do alot :D
-
BUMP!
oki, i still dont know what graphics card is the good one etc..
i will get onto SAMP in the afternoon today and show you the gameplay.
-
Dont spend 20 quid on wireless... Its rubbish. You'll add battery costs, sometimes they'll just STOP working ( Yes wireless mice and keyboards in that price range have a mind of their own )
-
BUMP.
so..
im gettin my £30 soon
what is the best cheap PCI card??????????????????
-
few weeks ago i bought this:
512MB Gigabyte HD4350 PCI-E
Gigabyte ATI RADEON HD 4350 Ultra Durable 2 (UD2) 512MB 64BIT GDDR2 DVI, CRT, HDMI ja HDCP toetus 650/800 DirectX10.1 PCI-Exp 2.0 (GV-R435OC-512I)
so i can recommend it.
im my country it cost about 25-27 £
playing all new games on without lags.
-
my mobo dnt support PCI-e.
its only PCI

Just to be Clear the Mb thing isnt the Important Part :D dont just look at it :D u need to check the other things to.....
Lets say
A 256 can be alot better than like a
1000mb card.
