Title: SAMP random freezes
Post by: Malcolm on July 30, 2009, 06:27:08 pm
Well it's pretty much like the title says. This doesn't happen during the Argonath 'starting screen', but whilst I am playing. It's getting very annoying. While playing the game would freeze, I can't do anything. To quit the game I have to ctrl+alt+dlt, and sometimes that doesn't even work, so I have to restart the computer.. I don't know why this happens, but I'd like to. I also would like to know if someone else has experienced this. Thanks!

Yes i got same problem, i can have it 5 times in 1 hour or 5 times on 10 minutes time, while playing the game stops, I can't even do cntrl alt dlt, i need to wait... then i get a screen with '' igxprd32.dll doesn't fucntion anymore, please restart your PC'' so i think my problem is my current driver who is installed, but i do'nt got the problem on my single player, only got it on SAMP :(

Do you have any overclocked components?

hears like it would be overclock of components.
Do the Computer says *piiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii* when it's freezes?

Still no answer, do you have overclocked components..?

I'm starting to experience this more often than before... my game froze several times today.

I'm starting to feel that this is server related.. (Unless CBFasi denies this)

This does not happen to me, this is not related to server about.
I have a super junk computer, P17G/1333 1GB memo, Onboard video card, P4 3.06
However, my computer does not overheats or freezes while playing argo.
Usually my processor is at load levels, temperature about, 50Cº, while idle he's arround 41Cº
Also my power supply has 200W, enough to deliver power to it.
My computer never froze while i was playing a game or doing something else, and i have it for arround, 5 months.
Please inform system specs + power supply

The problem is:
lack of power supply,
very hot computer,
overclocking issues,
software problems,
hardware problems.

Check out if you have lastest drivers video card, if you don't, upgrade it, if you do, downgrade it (for test).
Also, if your computer is with a bad power supply, inform your system specs plus power supply.

overheat rarely happens, but, it can be a possibility too, some of processors shuts down at arround 70Cº for example, check out if your computer is refrigerated correctly

See if hardware is correctly installed in correctly position exactly told as in manual, if problem still carrys on, contact manufacturer of the product in order to fix the problem.

Overclock can be dangerous, but, there's always safe and very safe method to do it, but, if your computer overclock fails and resets, you'll have to go back to stock core. However, while you're testing it, computer can shut down and go back to stock core.

if your Power supply fails to hold components, it's components will shut down and there is a chance of them getting damaged, aswell the power supply, generic power supplys are the most probably to show such kind of problems, such as: let's supose you brought a generic power supply, such as Clone, it's nominal power is 400W but real power is just 200W

You should watch out before buying any power supply, make sure they are in real power, not in nominal power!

While playing the game would freeze, I can't do anything. To quit the game I have to ctrl+alt+dlt, and sometimes that doesn't even work, so I have to restart the computer..
This probably is happening due your Video card or processor is at full load, probably, he's too hot or there is not enough power
igxprd32.dll doesn't fucntion anymore, please restart your PC
The problem is in your power supply, it's not enough for your system specs.
try to see if the problem is at power supply or memory, first, we'll start with memory and also, try to remove mods in order to lower CPU usage.
Try the Memory Test (http://www.memtest.org/download/1.70/memtest86+-1.70.iso.zip)
Extract the zipped file to a location that you know, like the desktop or folder etc. You should end up with a folder named floppy
Go into the folder and double click on the install.bat
A command window will pop up asking you for a location of your disk drive. Insert a blank floppy disk into the floppy drive, then enter the letter of the drive (usually the letter a) then follow the prompts.
after it creates the floppy, simply boot your PC with the disk still in the drive and run the test as advised.

After you've set the test, grab some coffee and a magazine or go watch tv etc. It will take a while, arround 3-5 hours.

I'm starting to experience this more often than before... my game froze several times today.
Do the memory test, if not, check if your power supply is enough to your system specs.

I have tried to play on a server wich had 200 slots and on some places the lagg was horrible, but on that server i didn't freeze one single time, i think it is server related:(

Do you using CD?
If you using CD, You may have a slow CD driver and a easy solution is to say to the game to read the CD from the computer, of course you'll need to put the game into the computer first.

No, I don't use CD as the game is not mine... And slow CD driver...... Any other game don't lag, so why SA would? It only comes when I am on Argonath. (Didn't test other server, but tried Single Player)

E: To Wayne, 350W PSU is enough for Intel C2D and nVidia 9 series / HD 48xx series..

And my question still without no answer, do you have any overclocked components....?

If your game freezing it is all because your graphic card's core cant handle it anymore.
Because some like: VGA Over heat, Powerless(The Power Supply doesn't have much power to give more when your VGA need it), bad RAM

Solution is: Use better VGA or use better graphic card cooling system or use better Power Supply or use Air Conditioner
