Title: Sounds broken.

I've got Windows 7 sound's onboard

While listening to music for instance in Windows 7 it should recognize the level of the audio there, too.
If the system outputs (uses) sound normally, the problem most likely lays in the category of a hardware issue.

Post by: Bilbo on April 02, 2011, 09:17:04 am: Well if the issue has recently started without any hardware change or software installations (try restoring the system to earlier date if you installed any software), the only thing that pops into my mind is a hardware failure on your motherboard.

But, we could test this quickly using Ubuntu.
Download the free Ubuntu-OS from; http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download (http://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download)
Then, follow the instructions below on steps 2 and 3 to "Try" Ubuntu in so called Live-CD session but not install it.

This way you could test if your sound card is still working and is the issue within Windows.

PnP = Plug and Play, I'm guessing. That usually means you don't have the right driver. If you have Windows 7, you should be able to find your soundcard's drivers in Windows Update. It found mine, at least.

Maybe I gonna try that to for my problem.
