Title: SA:MP Lag & Desync.

As you might have noticed, there has been an increment of script lag AND desyncs lately in the server, and, in order for us to fix it, we need to know as much as possible about how and what happened.

How to identify Script Lag
Remember, script lag doesn't necesarily mean that you lag, Script lag is, doing something that takes more time than often to get done, for example, you suspect someone, the message appears, but it takes a few extra seconds to the suspect to be turned orange and get a wanted star. Or you sell a car, the message appears but it takes 5-10 seconds for the car to dissapear.



How to identify Desync
This is very simple to identify, being desynced out of the server means the server stops updating your information and EVERYTHING stays the same as the time you got desynced out, The only thing you see is the chat moving and you don't even get uploaded about new players, all the players stays the same for you and the radar doesn't update. If this happens to you you should relog immediately before this affects someone such crashing into something when you're actually in other place and etcetera.

This just happened to me and i didn't really see who pulled me over


If you identify any of the both please reply here, especially the second one which is the one i am most affraid of.

What happened: Couldn't see anyone in the radar. Laggy scripts.
What were you doing when it happened: Anything. Happens all the time.
Server time: Happens to me all the freakin time.

Also people, remember that it is not necessary to test on public chat if you have lag..

Example, I see a few people who type.. and type.. and type.. while their connection is off.. so in result when they connect to server finally, there comes spam from them like

Player1: Test
Player1: Test
Player1: Test

You can just type a command which will give you some information, for example "/l'> which will display result of local text, or just /invent > /td.. You do not need to lag-test on public chat.. for gods sake!!

I have to agree with you on this Rock, alot of spam regarding "test" in the mainchat. It should be taken to one of the localchats or /invent maybe.

On a side note please if you do a report on "What Were you doing when the lag/desync happened" do not put I was playing or i was afk on the road, be more specific about location and what were you doing, for example. "I was at pershing square driving very fast" or "I was in a shootout"

What were you doing when it happened: I paused for a while near Verona Beach, came back ingame and all custom objects + other players had vanished.

Would script lag include... for example:
Two people are on a bike, one driving and one is a passenger (obviously). On the driver's screen, he is driving perfectly, avoiding every pole and every wall. On the passenger's side, the driver seems to be making the bike jump and teleport around occasionally, and when he does a sharp turn on his screen, on the passenger's screen, he still seems to be going towards a wall.

Happens to me sometimes, but everything smooths out after a second or two

That is desync. The server is sending packets every x milliseconds to update your position. In between the game calculate where you are going. If you do not receive a packet that steers the bike, it goes in to the last know direction and might crahs in to something. When the packet arrives, your position is adjusted.

What were you doing when it happened: Driving past Los Santos City Hall.
Server time: I think it was in the evening (GMT -3). Don't have an accurate time.

What happened:Driving on right line and towards me driving another guy,we pass I'm fine but he like dead bird throwed in air ,flys up gets burned and falls on ground and blows up ,have a shootout with my friend ,i shoot enemy but apears my friend so basicly kinda freez timing,driving away from cops and on highway freezing all time . Every script loads later than have to be,chat laggs eventualy last 3 days all day and all night .
What were you doing when it happened: using scripts,talking,shooting,driving  - all goes in deep lagg .
Server time: 24/7 every day last 3 days .

Or just lagging, and i don't mean FPS lag, someone is going straight on my screen but suddenly teleports to truly other side than he was on my screen, desync, really annoying, makes impossible to chase suspects/shoot them.

What happened: desynch | server lagg

What were you doing when it happened: I was chasing some suspects... on my screen they stopped... then they dissapeared.. and it happens always. I did /area ID (same player & ID) .. and it showed "Temple" in the next second "Las Venturas" in the next second "Dillimore". If I wouldnt know that veteran player is not a teleport hacker I wouldnt believe it... and it happens in every hour and almost with all players.

Server time: Today between 12:00 - 14:30 CET

Is that over? Now after server was laggy and it got fixed, i think desync got fixed also!

E: No it's not. It's maybe because i reinstalled my GTA.

Technically SA:MP Client can be at fault for the desync, not just Argonath Scripts.. At times the desync is worse than MTA:VC :lol:

And lately, I've noticed that the server is laggier than normal.

What happened: A variety of events occurred that rendered me unable to continue playing the game couple of minutes or sometimes even seconds after joining the server.
What were you doing when it happened: I was getting spawned after logging in and tried to enter my house in front of which I have spawned. Along with that I was only able to drive my car around, I had lost the ability to use chat and commands, and, curiously enough, I somehow gained access to Sprunk vending machines to replenish my health.
Server time: All the time, can't specify when.

imo its argonaths unique scripts... what goes in copule with unique lagg... sadly it makes it impossible to play on the server nowdays... even if theres 50 players only

What happened: This one time, I was having a shootout with a suspect and killed one of them, while still shooting at the other and he shooting at me back but my health wasn't going down due to desync and everyone else is standing still but they actually died from the shootout. I almost got ban for hacking by Daxx by that time but I explained the situation to him. Sometimes, I also desync in while driving or just doing anything.

Nearly all of the animations are not synched. It has been like that since the last SAMP client update.

I suggest reverting back to an older script backup, or even switch back to the previous SA:MP version if that didn't help.

To inform you Louis, the Minecraft server has started to experience the same lag aswell as SA:MP. We are getting lag for around 3 seconds every 30 seconds or so so i'm suspecting that this problem is going deeper then the SA:MP server alone.

To inform you Louis, the Minecraft server has started to experience the same lag aswell as SA:MP. We are getting lag for around 3 seconds every 30 seconds or so so i'm suspecting that this problem is going deeper then the SA:MP server alone.

Like multiple people have said... It's hardware issues, needs upgrading. Server Computers do not sleep, how would you feel if you were not resting for a few hours a day?
