Gaddafi was captured during the liberation of Sirte, Libya.
The National Transitional Council (NTC) has reported that Gaddafi has been killed. Rumours are he was killed when he tried to evade by escort, and also that he was found inside a hole in the ground.

Picture of the possibly deseased Muammar Gaddafi:

Are they the animals? from what I remember he was the one bombing his own citizens, killing everyone who wouldnt agree with his opinion.
Dont want to get replys? dont comment from the 1st place.
-
All you opposers of Gaddafi could at least pay a little more respect. Nobody's death is to be celebrated..
Are the killers animals? Well.. I'll answer that with a question : Do they celebrate his death?
-
RIP

I said dont comment ...
I was not giving you a comment, rather a verbal warning.
Other than that, if you don't wish your comments on your opinion then do not comment at all, this is a forum.

It seems like a new outpost of imperialism in the Arab world is soon to be opened...
-
The fall of your enemy is allways to be celebratet, it has allways been like this.
At least they got him after a while of hunting.
-
Why are you all so happy because he died? think about his family , how would you feel if your father died and everyone says "wooohoo" ? ...
Did he think about victims' families?
And for your information, all his sons are involved in illegal things, like money laundering, and killing demonstrators.
-
Why are you all so happy because he died? think about his family
Think about all the families which has lost someone because of him. He got what he deserved.
Good luck to the people in Libya. Dont let the freedom go over your head.

What a surprise.

NATO bombed Serbia and took Kosovo and made it their demilitarized outpost to control the Mediteranean, is this what you want to say?
In that case I may agree that NATO's actions are not the best but I would not like to extend my comments as my own country is part of NATO and also that they will generate a shitstorm
-
Rest in peace, Gaddafi
I won't forget the day he brought camels to Serbia, he was such a friend.
-
Too bad.. R.I.P
Isn't this politically related tho? ( disallowed? )
His death isn't. This would fall under a world event.
-
NATO = much worse than Gaddafi

No i mean in 1999 "they" helped our people get rid of a "dictator" and bring new "democratic" goverment... Ill tell you this, 10 years ago i lived 10 times better then i live today.
-
Gaddafi dead = Libian political parties fight eachother who takes control now, one wins, opposition raises more riots and bullshit like that, takes the power, civil wars...Atleast Gaddafi(While he was in power) had control and kept all under control, now, Libya will serve great damage. Trust me on that.
As Gaddafi was a human too, may he Rest In Peace, as we all deserve a second chance, even people responsible for many people's deaths.

The "Liberators" say that all Libyan tribes are united in NTC, and for a period of a year there will be no elections, the country will be governed by the army just like in Egypt.
Also heard they got two of his sons and his grandson there. May them all RIP.
-
NATO = much worse than Gaddafi
For once I agree with you.
From what I see EVERY reply in this topic against Gaddafi is made by people who just believe whatever the hell their news channel says, whatever the NATO says, whatever their friends or government tells them. Do some research before you go celebrate the death of, what you THINK is your ''enemy''. Most, if not all of the opposers in this topic haven't even heard of the name Muammar Gaddafi before the riots and ''liberators''. Rapture did.. is he against Gaddafi? No, he remembers him as a good friend who helped his country with camels. Read cDa's post if you want an independant opinion about it, not whatever made you think Gaddafi is some ''bad man''.
Shame on you all for laughing, cheering and celebrating the death of Muammar Gaddafi. That is all I'm gonna say about it. Have fun.
Rest in Peace, a great leader. A strong warrior. A victim of the NATO and the media..
-
I just want to say, F*CK NATO :)
-
Guys, those who wish to say their condolences do so. Everybody else please be quiet as discussing politics is forbidden, that includes NATO, Arab Spring, falling of Yugoslavia etc. If you still want to discuss it, use other means of communicating (MSN,PMs)
-
Dear god do you even know who was Muammar El Gadaffi,or as someone said, you just heard for him when the riots started??
Ask you're self, where did you saw it on BBC,CNN television company's that are well know to the world for there propaganda war.
What was he supposed to do when those brainwashed Protestants started bombing and killing his supporters, running for his head.
What you would just watch that calmly and wait for the bullet,YOU WOULDNT FIGHT BACK??
You people are Ignorant as fuck, you speak about something you obviously dont know.
NATO is good? What you thing they helped them because they have peaty eye's,or maybe they saw Libya as a treat to the USA,they did the same thing to Iraq, Afghanistan,Yugoslavia...??
And here you go a simple comparison between his and mine nation.A bit off topic but it's worth reading if you want to learn something about Libya:
First Interest-free loans during the study
Second Receives the average salary for that job, if you do not find a job after graduation
Third The state has paid for to work in the profession
4th When entering into marriage, the state pays an apartment or house

15th Every Libyan has the right to study where they want, there are also some in Serbia
16th Each student has paid apartment, food, car, tuition, books, and a monthly allowance of 2,500 euros
Serbia

@nikos,
I'm pretty sure Libya's life standards are going to drop, same as it went with Yugoslavia.
-
His death has made many people happy, for that reason, I'm glad he's gone.
-
This is a very controversial topic.
Many of us are unaware of the actions that actually took place, this is most likely for a good reason. Let's keep the negativity out, he was still a human, and there are people out there who are mourning his death. Lets give them that peace, with out the harsh disrespect.
Isn't this politically related tho? ( disallowed? )
This isn't light politics, we're talking major crimes against humanity. However, people should be allowed to air the condolences for his death, and leave out the highly controversial issues relating to his political movements.
-
Now they gonna meet with democracy, poor people.
And in ten years they gonna be like us probably worst, people are happy now sure, see you all in 10 and if I was wrong, chop my head of.
-
His death has made many people happy, for that reason, I'm glad he's gone.
That's a shit reason to support something and you have, quite frankly, lost all respect from me.
-
His death has made many people happy, for that reason, I'm glad he's gone.
I hope you realise the outright stupidity you've displayed here.
But this whole situation doesn't surprise me in the least. A few years back, most world leaders supported Gadaffi. I guess he just didn't really agree with the whole 'democracy' prospect. The same happened in Iraq, and now it seems as though Lybia will inevitably face the same fate.
-
To be honest, I couldn't give two fucks about what's happened, I never took interest in the whole matter, and I don't see people are getting worked up about this, but thats just me.
All I knew what he was a dictator.

Who is this person?
-
Who is this person?
Someone that's been alot on the news lately.
I don't know the actual story of Kadaffi and Libya, why people suddenly wanted democracy and turned against Kadaffi. I didn't knew about the Colonel until the war itself where Kadaffi was described as a dictator with no interest in his own citizens.
However, that's what the news tells me. I cannot say wether their story is directly the complete one. I didn't get the part where America and Europe suddenly invade the country to provide assistance with airstrikes, but I suppose that's politics.
I can't neither be happy or sad about the death of Kadaffi, yet I find it rather a disgrace for the Colonel's honour to show a picture of him death or whatever it was all around the world, even on TV. Nobody, even the most terrific person on earth does not deserve that.
I truly hope the best for Lybia and that the right thing has been done.

He was there 46 years with exactly the same way, civil war, I guess people need change after some time.
Strange thing, how I met Ghaddafi was in a football game, the commenter said that he owned some stocks in Juventus

'BOUT DAMN TIME.

I never tracked the news with a lot of interest when it was about Libya. I only find it disturbing that the NATO chose to aid rebels (or freedom fighters) rather quickly and Syria is still in worse shit... Without the NATO anywhere near.

Power corupts everyone, I can name many examples but it would be unappropriate to start a whole new debate.
I never tracked the news with a lot of interest when it was about Libya. I only find it disturbing that the NATO chose to aid rebels (or freedom fighters) rather quickly and Syria is still in worse shit... Without the NATO anywhere near.
Has "NATO" made anything or announced regarding Syria? Probably not since US/Europe did not own any money to Syria.
-
Topic has run its course, as continuation would land in political debates.
As noted in earlier topic, I do not agree with intervention by NATO or any country in to the national affairs of another country, regardless of who is in charge there.
If people look at Syria (which is actually blown out of proportion) they had better look at Bahrein where Saudi troops have taken the task to kill and arrest all protestors, yet as Saudi-Arabia and the Bahrein Royal family are described as 'good' nothing is written about it.
The main reason people are pressing on Syria is because Turkey, who has recently agreed with placing the NATO rocket shield, woud like to see the government there removed....
